( Mainly based on what he wanted ) Here it is : [ Click Me! ] If anyone could suggest any ideas on buttons, what kind of render/etc I should use, that'd be great. P.S. This was it : [ Click Me! ] Remember, it's not being used on the web. Leni says she doesn't feel it, and Ming says the Lif is overused. So, I'll be making a new one. :) Although it took me around 2 hours to do, I just have to keep trying and hope it'll be good for the web. Although I was kind of going for the "cosmos" theme, I guess it just didn't really work out. I'm having a pretty hard time finding renders that fit the "community" feel, so if anyone has any suggestions on themes for the banner, etc., it would be appreciated. Also, I had to recolor the render myself by hand. ----- @ sxc teacupx I know no one meant to hurt my feelings. Even though the truth may hurt, I just have to keep trying and hope for the better. Just haven't gotten around it yet. I'd change it now, but since my computer got recently formatted, I've lost all my renders and have to find them all over again. And sure, I'll keep in mind for the events page. This is only the front page, nothing else has been done so far. Genesis asked if I'd be interested in drawing a custom banner for the website, but didn't know the details about what the website would look like. So if you're interested still let me know. Should I have the hovers like I did on the old preview? I asked around, and they said the hover (if we did have one) would have to be up, not bottom. The navigation is pretty simple, and the text just changes color as a hover. The forum-login thing is done as well. The buttons I had to do by hand. Perhaps the screenshot could change each time you reload the screen? So it's always different (with limited options to switch to of course)Would keep things interesting. Could perhaps do the same with the banner. With the blue you leave yourself open to many options with the banner. So it'd be easier to implement multiple rotating banners, and still look just as great. For the buttons, one could be to the server's hardware. Another could lead to a page with the donation rewards listed/voting rewards, another could lead to our events with the rules stated for each event. About that rotating main banner, I talked to Genesis about the idea few days ago, and he said it would take around 20 seconds to load the page with normal connection, and by that time, the player would have already left. So I think rotating the slide-show under the banner is better. About the hardware suggestion, I don't think it's that necessary. I mean most players don't go looking around at the server's hardware looking at : # 2x Dual Core Opteron 2216 # 4GB DDR 667 ECC REG RAM # (120GB HDD # Unmetered 100mb/s uplink. # Dedicated datacenter in Chicago far from risk zones. # Protected and Monitored by IT (Well, at least I don't.) Donations/donation rewards we were planning to do. (To promote donating since there's a button on the navigation, so yeah.) Events, I talked to Genesis about it and he said we could just easily make a forum topic for it. (Although I want to do it on the website...) And thanks again. As for the hardware, some, not a ton but a few, people look at the hardware (and know what it means) to see how much lag they might see on the server, if any. The lag and stability mainly. The only thing is, the buttons don't match the banner, but I don't think that's a big deal. Where will the events page be? In Community maybe? idk.
