Bad Tippers

No. I'm not a waitress.

But don't you find it annoying when you're out with your friends and someone suggests, "Let's just leave $1 each for the tip"? My god. You ordered a $25 meal, and you want to only give the poor girl a buck for a tip? It's so embarrassing, but I usually give them 20% of the tab, sometimes 30% to cover for a cheap friend.

Servers make minimum wage (and in some states, employers are permitted to pay them less because they assume they make tips), so always tip fairly. 15% for bad/okay service, 25% for excellent. :]

Thats exactly what happened for me in my school trip!

Me and someone friends went to this one cafe on the beach and each of us ordered something, they ordered two big milkshakes and I ordered a glass of martini. After we were done she brought us the check and suddenly they decided to order one more milkshake for them (there was three of us) and when she brought it to them they were like "No no,we don't have enough money for that, you can take it back".

But while she was taking it back, they just left the money and ran.I was so embarrassed in front of that poor girl, eventually I left her a 50% tip for the service and the inconvenience.

And thats the last time I got somewhere with those cheapass idiots >__>

Meh. I hate eating with my friends because I'm the only one who feels ashamed if we don't leave 35% tip on places I frequent .___.

O_O

I think I am a little poor at the moment to pay 25$ for a meal... sorry

It depends on the server but I never look at the gratuity. Usually if the server is a crappy waiter I usually leave the 15% depending on how much the bill is. So if it's a $40.00 bill I'll usually leave like $5.00 if they're a shitty waiter.

Now if they're a GREAT waiter/waitress. I'll leave a great amount. If the bill was say $50.00 I would leave $15.00 just because of how hard they're working.

It all depends on the situation. I can understand the position they're in since when I was 15 I was a Busboy/Waiter my self so I know what they're going through. But having a bad day doesn't mean take it out on the customer.

(:

Actually 15% is standard, and 20% is generous. Least over here. 35% is a lot, but I'd appreciate it, so that's up to you.

Standard is usually 18% now. At least here in the (Twin) Cities.

Sometimes they dont deserve shit.

A couple of friends and I went to a resteraunt and we tipped this girl 40 dollars cash. I paid for my meal with my card though and she charged me an extra 25 dollars so she could pocket it as a tip. On top of that;; when I went to go get my money back the head manager was a complete bitch about it and one of his employees came up to me and said sorry for his behavior. Seriously.

I once tipped a waitress $20 she thought I was hitting on her. So I got her number and we hung out a few times. Now we're just great friends. (:

I've heard of that happening before - always good to write $0 in the tip line and then restate the total on both copies (merchant and customer) so you can argue it to authorities if needed.

I did argue for my money back with my reciept; I did write 0 on the tip part as well.
