Gabs Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 In many games ping is the determing factor in who lags who doesnt and who ends up looking pro when essentially they jus have faster communication with the server. As some may know this rate communication between your computer to the server of a game or to a website is known as your ping. Ping is the speed at which packages transfer to and from your computer IP address to another IP address (IP address - is an internet based address for websites computers/servers) So the lower ur ping the faster u comunicate with a certain site or server (Ping varies depending where the server is located and many other factors) To check your ping (assuming ur using Windows) go to Start go to run run "cmd" then type "ping ..." where ... is the ip address of the server you wish to ping. ping anywhere between 0-200 is quite fast. 200-400 is okay 400++ might as well quit because you will die before your screen finishes loading. Noticable differences when dueling a person with low ping: asuras look like they occur from about 3-7 squares or more away you are ded before you see your attacker when u press ygg really close to death and it doesnt work - its cos ur already ded you jus dont know it yet have fun and enjoy (note:i cant remember FRo server IP so i didnt post it)
Dr. Tran Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 i think if u try ping the control panel or the site or the forum, it gives the est ping for the server lol.
iGay Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Tell me server IP plz i anna check my ping i really suck at champ spamming tss and also i ygg very slow QQ
Hrist Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 291ms, Maximum = 301ms, Average = 294ms Yeah. Start > CMD > ping forsakenserver.net There you go.
death... Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Approximate round trip times im milli-seconds: Minimum = 123ms, Maximum = 124ms, Average = 123ms What does it mean? Am I lagging that much?
Hrist Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Approximate round trip times im milli-seconds: Minimum = 123ms, Maximum = 124ms, Average = 123ms What does it mean? Am I lagging that much? I think the only time you'll get massive lag spikes is when you're getting 400+ 1-200 is lag free (as mentioned above) 200-400 is okay, moderate with some lag spikes 400+ quit this game since you're gonna end up dead before you can ygg. That pretty much sums it up (as explained above as well).
Armani Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Living on this rock of an island really sucks. Especially when you want to play video games via internet. XBox 360 Lags. PS3 Lags. Computer Lags. Only thing in my life that doesn't lag is WORK. QQ
