  3. I know this is an old-ish post, but figured I'd follow up on my success if anyone else is looking to do the same. Someone with better hardware might have better results without having to go through everything I did to make it work, but the distro I ended up settling with is Manjaro (cause ain't nobody got time for Arch) with i3 window manager and no desktop. I guess you can't really get much lighter than that and still have good functionality out of the box, but then again I'm not really an expert. .-. Anyway, I plopped all these settings into Wine's regedit and it runs pretty good now, just as well if not faster than Windows 7. Just copy and save it as a .reg file, import into regedit, and reboot: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\Fkenro.exe] "Version"="winxp" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\Fkenro.exe\DllOverrides] "*d3d8"="builtin" "*d3d9"="builtin" "*d3dim"="native" "*d3drm"="native" "*d3dx8"="native" "*d3dx9_24"="native" "*d3dx9_25"="native" "*d3dx9_26"="native" "*d3dx9_27"="native" "*d3dx9_28"="native" "*d3dx9_29"="native" "*d3dx9_30"="native" "*d3dx9_31"="native" "*d3dx9_32"="native" "*d3dx9_33"="native" "*d3dx9_34"="native" "*d3dx9_35"="native" "*d3dx9_36"="native" "*d3dx9_37"="native" "*d3dx9_38"="native" "*d3dx9_39"="native" "*d3dx9_40"="native" "*d3dx9_41"="native" "*d3dx9_42"="native" "*d3dx9_43"="native" "*d3dxof"="native" "*dciman32"="native" "*ddrawex"="native" "*devenum"="native" "*dinput"="builtin" "*dinput8"="builtin" "*dmband"="native" "*dmcompos"="native" "*dmime"="native" "*dmloader"="native" "*dmscript"="native" "*dmstyle"="native" "*dmsynth"="native" "*dmusic"="native" "*dmusic32"="native" "*dnsapi"="native" "*dplay"="native" "*dplayx"="native" "*dpnaddr"="native" "*dpnet"="native" "*dpnhpast"="native" "*dpnlobby"="native" "*dsound"="builtin,native" "*dswave"="native" "*dwrite"="" "*dxdiag.exe"="native" "*dxdiagn"="native" "*gameoverlayrenderer"="" "*iexplore.exe"="native,builtin" "*inetcpl.cpl"="native,builtin" "*inseng"="native" "*itircl"="native,builtin" "*itss"="native,builtin" "*jscript"="native,builtin" "*mfc42"="native" "*mfc42u"="native" "*mlang"="native,builtin" "*msdmo"="native" "*mshtml"="native,builtin" "*msimtf"="native,builtin" "*msvcm90"="native,builtin" "*msvcp90"="native,builtin" "*msvcr100"="native,builtin" "*msvcr80"="native,builtin" "*msvcr90"="native,builtin" "*msxml3"="native" "*qcap"="native" "*quartz"="native" "*shdoclc"="native,builtin" "*shdocvw"="native,builtin" "*shlwapi"="native,builtin" "*steamwebhelper.exe"="native,builtin" "*streamci"="native" "*urlmon"="native,builtin" "*vcomp90"="native,builtin" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\Fkenro.exe\Direct3D] "DirectDrawRenderer"="opengl" "Multisampling"="disabled" "OffscreenRenderingMode"="pbuffer" "RenderTargetLockMode"="disabled" "RenderTargetModeLock"="disabled" "StrictDrawOrdering"="disabled" "UseGLSL"="disabled" "VideoMemorySize"="128"
  4. If my understanding is correct, Gepard won't allow the use of any grf's other than the ones provided specifically for FRO, to prevent sprite edits and the like. You have to play the game as it is out of the box, software-wise.
  5. Whoa whoa whoa, slow yer roll, who said anything about "secondary programs", nobody said anything about "secondary programs." Why would you even bring that up? What makes you think that error is caused by "secondary programs" in the first place? Jokes aside, what kinda graphics card you running? Try switching the graphics profiles in Setup, and make sure you're running everything as administrator with Windows XP compatability.
  6. Sold
  7. Does everyone in the raid party get the 4/6/8 Dragon Tokens, or just the party leader?
  8. Server time, and yeah it's been randomly tossing everyone off for the last couple days or so.
  9. Don't think I've ever actually seen 1 in game, buuuuuuut Name ur price or even if ur willing to make 1 Nvm
  10. Does anyone have any experience using Wine to play this server on Linux? (Mint in my case, tho haven't actually tried it there yet) Any problems you ran into, fixes/tips, etc? Eventually wanna make it my main OS, but I NEED MUH RO
  11. Cool. I guess if nothing else, it'll make the more "dedicated" cheaters easier to spot.
  12. Quick Google search turns up a lot of scamming in regards to this particular hack shield... Fake Facebook pages, etc. Also, this idea has been suggested/discussed to infinity, but name a hack shield that can't be easily bypassed by the kiddiest of script kiddies and I'd +9999 da out of it.
  13. My non-Thana Stave could do over 40k (to gtb'd) when I played wiz, you're not using the right gear/cards.

  15. Oh wow, they're a lot cheaper than they used to be now... Not sure what that says about the economy lol. There needs to be more motivation for people to donate for pure tokens though, because as it stands now, nobody in the market seems to actually have any, or they're just not willing to spend em on anything other than super expensive Emps and whatnot. Especially for newbies, this makes it's very stagnant. Perhaps if there was a way to create tokens in-game, with donating for them simply being the quick alternative? Straight zeny --> token conversion maybe?
  16. If there would be equal rewards for both rooms, sure, why the hell not ... even though allowing parties goes against the entire concept and spirit of having a PvP ladder to the point that it makes me question certain peoples' agendas, but I've already bitched about that enough. +1
  17. I've already tried barking up that tree with another thread, but glad to see other people agree.
  18. Who knows. I played on a different lowrate server a while back and someone also PM'd me with "your from Asia right???", so he's probably doing it on several servers, lol.
  19. The infamous "your from Asia right????" scammer again? Dude's been at it for years, using the same exact trick, he's probably PM'd me a thousand times since 2012. Educating people not to fall for this blatant type of crap is the best solution, cuz if the many bans he's probably received by now hasn't stopped him, I don't think it's going to lol.
  20. A fair and effective solution might simply be to render the NPC unclickable until the room is open, thereby forcing players to manually go through the menu options and botcheck. In that case. since the botcheck passwords are various lengths that take longer or shorter times to type, it would randomize a higher or lower chance to get in, yet still leave some element of skill required ... rather than just hitting Enter really fast when the room opens, as it currently stands, which can be done rather easily shall we say ARTIFICIALLY if you get my drift.
  21. All the hoarders are using hacks I can prove this 100% fu fu fu fu fu
  22. Didn't we used to have a non-donation PvP room? Nobody ever used it if I recall.
  23. Yeah, they're Knight set hats.
  24. OBJECTIVE - Make Halloween quest hats reasonably obtainable... IDEA - Lower the Halloween Tickets required for the majority of the hats from Rafuku, and raise the chance of getting a hat from the Trick or Treat Boxes, which I'm taking an educated guess here from experience so far is about 10% yeah? First the boxes, let's do a little math here. It costs 250 tokens for a Trick or Treat Box. A decent farmer can get, on average depending how many other people are farming at any given hour, about 50 Halloween tokens from each spawning. That's about five hours for one box, right? :] I'm assuming it's a 10% chance to get a random hat from one. Every year since these have been introduced, I've wanted to tear my hair out because of all the ROTTEN FISH I get, and I end up not getting any of the hats I actually want. Now for the tickets. Most of the Ticket hats are 35 tickets. I don't know if anyone actually estimated how long it might take somebody to make one of those hats, but I like to think I'm a pretty damn fast farmer, and it took me four days, FOUR DAYS, of pretty much non-stop farming to make one single hat. Is that reasonable? I love the new Halloween quest hats that come out each year, but it's so much of a hassle, if not downright impossible, to collect them all. I've already pointed out (several times) that the prices for the new hats this year don't coincide with the prices on the image in the update thread, so I'm just not going to waste my breath on that anymore.
