You're right; the skill is normal and it works properly for the porpouse of low rates how ragnarok was intended to be. However the FRo we all love so much is a high rate, and GTB, a card that should be super hyper mega rare, in here is something of public domain, and it renders the magic class play useless on its almost totality. And some players, like me for instance, enjoy playing magic classes, hence the change ^^" This is "The why" ideas such as this are given; cause a single card kills the essence of 3+ jobs, there are players who enjoy said jobs and the skills as they are curriently don't allow a fair gameplay and performance of said classes cause of this card ^^ PS: Of course if this change was to happen, still is not enough...but it would be a step closer to the ever dreamt balance.

i have nothing against FCP...only chemical protection shield :3 one thing that i agree with geldaz(though there's lots of things i agree with him); giving an advantage only to professors won't do any good about the GTB 'issue'. Still, i think that this change along with others could work... i was thinking something funny...what if Magic Crasher had a 1% chance of causing 1kk damage when the target is wearing GTB? XD

Nah...i don't think this will happen at all, believe me. We've been trying to get some edge for spellcasters for a long time =P i'm here just for the fun of having ideas that could work and no one gives a damn about them and don't want even to try XD Still another fun thing to do here; discuss logic on something that can be interpreted in a lot of ways depending on culture/folklore/belief/mithology =P Well...priests DO have divine powers given to them straight from The Lord and apparently they don't work as well oO i have my own interpretations as to how magic works =P and any fairy tale/role playing game/religion/book has theirs...but only to leave somehting clear...i think that for someone who can make people crazy by staring into their eyes, destroying their soul and moral and make fire and ice rain from the sky...making some strange blue coating over their enemie's armor and weapon vanish must be a piece of cake XD And...people still need to learn and look into the whole.

Detergent still wouldn't dispell EDP...we better try to forcefeed assassins some antidote then =P Attention concentrate, Falcon's Eyes and Wind Walk "supposedly" aren't magic skills, but they also get dispelled :rolleyes: i think the initial balance of dispell made for Low rates is that "buffs that need itens that are hard to obtain can't be dispelled". Think in the class as whole; spellcasters pay a price for their huge damage output; they die fast. AND coma don't work on GTB =P (it nullifies alone two things that could make a caster prevail) Yeah as i said, i don't think this is enough, but anything is better than the currient situation. 1.High Wizz card could make those 1 damage...grow you know XD 2.If Dispell went through GTb and dispelled FCP(at least CPS) it would be perfectly fit for PvP 3.On low rate FCP isn't as abundant and GTB is a couple per server, still, the game isn't "useless to play" besides the amount of sages and professors is awfully low =P See? It's easy to counter anything...except a caster win against GTB+FCP. Besides if there was a failproof tatic against it, don't you think the server would have more casters active pvp wise?

Assumptio doesn't affect any stats as well and it is cancelled by Dispell :blink: The definition for a 'buff' here is "a state that gives you some support advantage for given time spam". Since, normally, strip skills do work on anyone, and this condition FCP gives you the advantage of not being affected by it, it is a buff. Ways like OL? =P Try killing a 200k+ HP pally with a 60k HP wizzard using only reflect and see if it's as easy as you think it is...and we are talking about high rate...a duel of GTB+FCP meelee VS spellcaster isn't a common occourence in a low rate, in here, it happens too often, hence why magical classes are underplayed; GTB is a standard noob equipment, and it kills the essence of 3+ jobs at once =P The idea presented by this topic was a modification as a...kind of incentive for people to start using active spellcasters and actually winning by adding a posibility that doesn't exist for now, hence why it is in "suggestion" forun. Honestly, i don't think it's enough, but as they say...1 is better than 0 XD i kind of side with ANY idea for spellcasters...they are extremely underpowered in here you know.

i'm inclined to agree with you...but you know, it's fruitless to try and force things this way. i wonder when all this drama will end and people will be able to play fairly as a spellcaster.

Being a chemical doesn't change the fact it is a buff and dispell is a debuffer. Finding logic like this in something that has things such as a person being able to carry over two thousand apples and fight normally while doing so, is pointless. We're talking about game mechanics, not RolePlaying/Reality avaliation. Mental atribute; The topic is about this, Dispell is affected by GTB like every spell, and the idea proposed by the topic is changing this fact. And the word 'useless' is used to point out the situation of a wizzard/sage evaluated in a fair situation like a duel 1vs1. Being locked in the defensive you just can't win. And since the sitution in question says you're alone against someone who is also alone, support isn't exactly something to be considered. In other words...you only said things we all already know ^^ And Sages/professors in lowrates can be made to go meelee. But anyone who played as one in a low rate knows that dealing physical damage while meeleeing as a Battle sage/professor isn't even 25% of the efficiency of one...the real secret of a battle sage/professor is Free cast, Hindsight and Autocasting equipments/cards.

i once suggested this too...but it makes me happy that it was my friend Ryoji who suggested it this time =3 Anyways. Stating a fact about Dispell; it wasn't meant to be countered, it IS a counter against buff whores. And one of the vital roles for Sages/Professors in WoE always was to dispell the most dangerous figures like champs. As for dispelling FCP...what about making it a 5% chance of doing so? i mean...the worst about GTB is the combo GTB+FCP that makes wizzies and profs useless. but...the single fact that Dispell worked vs GTB already sounds great. BTW i still don't see Dispell one hit KOing people >_>

It becomes a GTB conversation sooner or later...i mean, what is the root of the spellcaster's problems? Ahem...i only found it interesting cause...the topic suggests giving a coma weapon to wizzards. Yet...GTB blocks magic and coma therefore...i didn't see a very much usefullness to it. Geldaz idea looked nice anyways in how coma could help.

pardon my ignorance ^^" i forgot...WS card breaks armor and weapon XD either way, FCP still protects against shield breaking, not to mention the weak capabilities for mages meeleeing knights and assassins. i don't know why is that people have so much fear of HW, GTB is NOT the only way to survive against one. Do i need to make a complete anti-magic guide so people believe me that it's actually easy to counter magic? People of Lowrate can make HWs run in fear in pvp, and they don't have Maya, RXS, Eddga, FKingset and two slotted mantles =/ Then again, don't worry. All we can do is whine, GTB isn't changing, so be happy ^^ well i found it pretty unfair myself, COCS has like more delay and i delay in which you can't eve move while it works =/ mentioning such things as the original drop rates don't work by the way...believe i tried XD the best you can get is a "go play in a low rate then!" Someone still has HOPE of getting something for the magic class? oO admirable... hmmm well you see...the failure about the initial idea...GTB Blocks Coma AND Magic so a coma wizzard would be as good as a coma professor, GTB blocks both things at once. About the shield breaking, Whitesmith card does that alone...why would you want a combo for that? Unless it was a card with the MvP skill Break Shield LV10, which FCP doesn't protect. hmmm...Cast Off Ciceda Shell is one of the skills that got..."balanced out" =P (aka nerfed in the server)

When you look in the mirror and can see a Green Gauge and a Blue Gauge under your feet T.T it gets worse if you can see them not whole and filling up as your stand still ^_^

Relligion is a very touchy subject isn't it? ^^ And complicated too. There are people who believe a certain person is their messiah, there are people who consider only parts of a holy text to base all their rules for their beliefs, there are people with tribal rituals that are as ancient as the most famous holy texts. Rules differ so much that it's impossible to know in what to believe sometimes, and in the middle of all this ruckus there are those who don't believe anything... Seriously, forcing beliefs into one is pointless. If you think a religious person saying that you're wrong about your conduct of having no beliefs, try to see a debate between two convict relligious people of different sects trying to force their beliefs one into the other...it's...it's...another level...XD

YouTube knows it all Icarus XD the only problem is that you might have to look for another episodes/parts separately XD but that's how i watched it. My opinion is that it was a very nice anime even though it seems to have displeased many(which i didn't expect to =P) i really enjoyed each episode. It looked more real than the actual game, like...you make meteors come crashing down on the land and people get full hit by it...yet all that happens to them is getting stunned? Besides, you can giggle each time something directly game-based happens like...the /thx emoticon happeneing when the swordie saves the merchant XD I really really REALLY liked Takius by the way...

a life? hnnnn...i'll not go as far as explain what most of you already hear in the biology classes. But basically you're given one when you're born, and unless you're an animated dead body, yes you do have a life XD Me? hnnnn...i usually sleep 5~7 hours/day when i'm lucky =P they are random too XD somedays i can get knocked out for 12~15 hours straight when i get the time to XD Some days a week i go to the gym to pratice my capoeira, tough sometimes i wish i could just stay in home, mother sez "You have to do at least your basic time of exercises!!" she says i can choose what sport i make, but i definitly have to do it, so it can't be helped, i choose one that was more like to my tastes and more easy to do. i work 3~4 days a week 10~12 hours on these days to help in home with the things we need to buy, which i have been doing since the last 2 years(i was 14 when i started working) and also to get money for the metal concerts i like so much <3 i go to one at least two times per month wih my friends. And of course, Otakons. i have school at night and i hardly miss a class. Two times a week i go to a school to learn yet another language, i love learning foreign languages since i was 8 XD With kind of random schedules to each day in the week, i eat/bath in random times too. the only game i play is fRO and i wish i had more time to do so ^^ i sometimes play some PS2 games too. Basically i wish i could be a 'no life' like people say. To have not a single thing to worry about and be in home just playing games or doing whatever i wanted all day long. If someone think i'm proud of this busy schedule, i'm not ={ i really envy those with lots of freetime and i have to say to them; be happy, you have the life i wished to have XD
