What are you planning on using your laptop for? Just portability or a desktop replacement?
If you're trying to replace your desktop with a notebook, you'll want the HP model you posted. However, a 17" screen is huge when you want to carry it around places.
15.6" is decent. I can't say anything about the Acer brand, but the graphics card that comes with it will cause you some trouble if you're going to be installing some games on it (it'll run RO though).
My first notebook was an HP and I thought it had some great specs and all, but when you do pack all those great things into a notebook, it'll tend to run hot and overheat. Mine died due to overheating, lol.
I own a Toshiba 12.1" notebook. It's great as a mobile computer, but I can't install or run a lot of high-end games or graphics programs due to the Intel graphics card, LOL. SO YEAH.
I have really little knowledge of computers, but that's just my experiences with 'em.
