  1. Money is money, but should I get the wrong job; say something I really hate which works me long hours, or has me working a night shift, the last thing I'm going to want to do is fill my free time with more job searching. Maybe I'll just sling crack.
  2. Your example isn't displaying correctly. You may need to relink it.
  3. Your request is rather involved. I'd be willing to create a tutorial for you to follow, or if you'd like to provide all the frame-by-frame walking animations and effects, I'd be willing to throw it together for ya. What you're asking would take an experienced animation and sprite artist about two hours to make, and that's only if you provided all the source frames. Taking the static image and making it walk would be next to impossible and end up taking days. Assuming you do the dirty work in capturing all the animation frames and someone takes on the project, two hours is a lot of time to dedicate should you not actually like the banner.

That's no reason you need to be rude about it. The last thing I want to do as a noob around here is misunderstand a post and go on some lengthy diatribe only to find out I misunderstood the whole subject. *post edited because I slang an insult that in retrospect, I really didn't mean.
  5. Are you talking about the little powerpuff girls 24x24 pixel images? If you aren't, you're going to have to try linking to them again.
  6. Woah, woah, woah... I'm not saying get RID of all the swapped pallet sprites and the overlays. I'm just saying they shouldn't be the brunt of edits and that they're hecka easy to make. I just don't see why someone should get a page of praise for spending 10 minutes in a pixel editing program copy/pasting. I spent 10 years making my own 2D games; sprites, coding and all. When I was a noob to the game making scene, all I did were sprite edits and color pallet swaps of sprites ripped from other games, and I'd get bitched out for it. I'd spend 6 months working on some crummy fan game, and I wouldn't get an ounce of praise for it. Over the years, I learned how to make my own stuff from scratch. Now, I'm not anywhere near the same caliber as the original sprite artists for Ragnarok... who is? All I'm saying is that it strikes me as incredibly odd that the same thing that got me bitched at as a noob is earning someone else praise. Where are all the original sprites at?
  7. ...and here I am wishing I weren't nearly as sober.
  8. That just means all their friends are biased and retarded. Why would you want them on YOUR side?
  9. I am a gent. I really need to throw an avatar on here so I can repreZIZent. I've been out questing, earning items, and going for more EXP lately, so I haven't been working on job change. I'd like to hit level 200 before I change to knight. I'm weird like that with RPGs. I level like a mofo.
  10. Just so everyone knows right off the bat, I'm a loser. I'm 26 years old, and about a month ago, I had to move back into my parent's place. My old room mates Christina and Steven were married, and living in a house owned by Christina's mother. Christina's mom was never around, until she got a hair up her ass and decided she was moving in as a pit stop between her house 40 miles away and work in town. The house itself had 5 bedrooms. I lived in one of them downstairs and I usually kept to myself. Most days, I'd be at work. Most nights, I'd come home and surf the internet. I really wasn't a bother to anyone. When Christina's mom found out I smoke weed every now and then, instead of asking me to stop, she simply kicked me out. She said it was because she wanted to live in my room, but there were two other bedrooms availiable. Whatever... that's said and done. I lost my job about a week into packing up everything I own. Best Buy said I wasn't in attendance at a store meeting because the computer timeclocking system was down. I had to cancel moving into my own apartment because I didn't have an income anymore, so my parents stepped up and decided to help. Depends on what your definition of help is, though. I knew I'd be spending most of my days applying for work... and I am. The first week I moved in, my parents decided they were going off to the coast for three days. I had my girlfriend over, and I thought I'd go out of my way and do something nice for them. I cleaned the house from top to bottom. Everything was spotless. When they got home, I expected to hear a thank you. Instead, I got bitched out for leaving the broom and dustpan in the closet when it belongs in the garage. Both of them bitched and moaned because instead of important paperwork and bills being strewn over every possible surface in an unorganized pile, I moved it all into organized piles on the end table. "Fuck! Now we have to sort through all this shit just to pay the bills!!! You need to leave your god damn hands off of our papers!". I'm a high school graduate with some college experience and an A+ certification in hardware and software. My parents are getting so money hungry about rent that even in a single month's time, they expect me to be employed and making a paycheck. It's not as if I'm a burden around here to begin with. I spend six hours a day submitting applications, then I stay in my room and surf the internet or go over to my girlfriend's place. If not for cooking and using the bathroom, it's not apparent I even live here. So, my mom pulls me aside the other night and starts telling me I need to take whatever I can get. She starts telling me about McDonalds, Gas Station jobs, and night-shift security positions. McDonalds and the gas stations are just a fucking slap in the face. I'm better than that. The night shift jobs are an impossibility because my parents are bitches who constantly yell at each other. I've tried that before and I don't get sleep... at all. I tried explaining that to her, then my Dad chimed in and screamed at me for bring a lazy son-of-a-bitch. There's absolutely no winning with my parents. They live in their own little world where everything they say is absolutely correct and cannot be contested no matter the proof. I've already tried killing the both of them (that was way back in the day over severe child abuse issues), but the bastards won't die. They're like Satan incarnate cut in two. Sometimes I really just want to haul off and punch the hell out of both of them. Trust me, it's not because I'm immature, angsty, and just can't get my way. It's because I NEVER get my way around them... EVER. The only problem I face is that if I'm not living here, I'm homeless; and if I'm homeless, I'm girlfriendless, friendless, and without internet access. They know they have leverage because I have no other option. It practically reduces me to being a slave around here. I'd off myself, if it weren't for my girlfriend and the few friends I have. This cycle has occurred in the past, and seems to reoccur. I'm trying my damnedest to get the hell out of here as fast as possible, but if this happens again, I think I'd rather be homeless than live with these damn devils again.
  11. Sephiroth was a drama queen, and Square should be ashamed for exploiting absolutely everything extreme and badass in the world and attempting to wrap it all up in a single character. Final Fantasy 7 was nothing but a mainstream marketing ploy. The storyline was random, left a myriad of gaping story holes that Square only began filling in with the release of Advent Children and the Dirge of Cerberus. While I understand that for many of you, Final Fantasy 7 was your introduction to role playing games, just because you happen to have a nostalgic place in your heart for the game doesn't mean it was the greatest Final Fantasy game made. Hell, I wouldn't even rank it in the top 5, but that's just my opinion.
  12. If it weren't for the Xbox 360 experiencing a red ring of death once every two weeks, I'd absolutely vote it over the PS3 or Wii. The Wii has a few games that really shine on the console. Mostly Nintendo or second party releases, but most of the games on Wii feel like demo ware. What happened to Wii being the best anticipated platform for FPS games? There aren't many actual FPS games on Wii. Instead, the game library is filled with games where you stand and shoot at targets. The PS3 is superior hardware to the Xbox 360, but only in the number crunching department. The PS3 is awesome with physics, but it's video chipset is only one small step above the same graphic chipset included in the Xbox 360. PS3's major claim to fame is bluray compatibility, but how many games actually fill a full bluray disc? None. If you mention ANY console, there's usually a small list of games which really stand out. The PS3's got quite a few of them. Unfortunately, the Xbox 360 is cheaper, and most of the "console seller" games or "killer apps" are cross platform with very little cut in gameplay. Besides, the Xbox 360 has far, far more independent platform titles and a much more well supported online play system (not that I'm into most online games). As far as handhelds are concerned, it's blatently time for Nintendo to move onto new hardware. We don't need another iteration of Nintendo DS. It'd be nice if Nintendo moved onto a 128-bit handheld platform. I mean, it's been about 8 years, hasn't it? Usually, Nintendo hangs up it's current Gameboy generation after 6. As far as games go, though, I'd MUCH rather be playing a DS than a PSP. While Sony's PSP is better both graphically and in terms of hardware, the games for the handheld kinda sucked. UMD movies were a novel idea, but who actually makes them anymore? Sony had a good idea. Sony just sucks at marketing.

    hehe =P

I've never been into espionage themed games. The metal gear series does have a pretty good storyline, but their character dialog plays out like a wrestling match or soap opera.

Are you trying to say they shouldn't make any more because it's all based on a legend which isn't real, or are you trying to say that all the games in the series are great... in fact... legendary?
  15. The Pokemon series has been completely crap since the original Red, Green, and Blue versions. When Gamefreak and Nintendo began taking cues from the cartoon show and incorporating them into the games, the whole series lost it's original feel. Trainers aren't as snarky, the puzzles aren't as challenging, and the Pokemon are cheaper, poorly named, and unbalanced. I hated Yellow, if for no other reason than it cut away at the requirement to be social with fellow gamers... and Pikachu was annoying as hell. I still remember that 5 year span when every child under the age of 14 ran about yelling out "PIKA, PIKA!" and "Pikachuuu!" as annoyingly as possible. Hell, I even watched the cartoon show for a while... up until each episode became some moral story about doing good deeds, and even the show's title theme mispronounced the word Pokemon. It's pronounced Poe'kae'mon... not Poe'kee'mon. Everything about pokemon has gone completely crap in the last decade. Nintendo needs to shoot the horse. It's become lame.
  16. I'd have to agree. Kingdom Hearts was nothing but a video game. I have absolutely no idea how most KH players equate Disney characters to Chibi. That'd be an opinion! KH1 had pictures of little doggies and candy. KH for GBA had so many joyous levels, I gleeked in anticipation all over my gameboy and crotch. That's when I gave up on Kingdom Hearts entirely. I've never played number two, and the only thing I look forward to with number three is squeeling gleefully while overflowing with happyness and joy! Hearts and daises for EVERYBODY!!! Is that better? Yes, I'm being a bit sarcastic, because I don't think this post was an issue to begin with. I wasn't singling anyone out, nor was I grouping every Kingdom Hearts player in on what I called "fan boys and fan girls". Sure, there was a little name calling, but it wasn't pointed at anyone, and while it may have offended a few people, that's kinda the price you have to pay for a good discussion. I don't mean to cause trouble, and I'm not just challenging you because you've called me out. I have an opinion, too. Just because my opinion is a touch on the offensive side, does that make it any less worthy an opinion than anyone else's? I don't think so. Sure, there are limits. I would expect a discussion like this had I called someone out by name or handle and insulted them, but I'll never do that. I do know better. A discussion forum can't be entertaining without conflict. Conflict creates and necessitates discussion anyhow. It's just a matter of how much. I will promise not to push the envelope any further than my original post, though... I mean, if that suffices. If not, I'd hope you'd PM me.

    Warcraft? o_o

Warcraft... as in Warcraft, Warcraft 2, and Warcraft 3 were all exceptional RTS games. The games themselves along with franchises like Command and Conquer aided in crafting the mainstream real time strategy genre. A lot of people argue that Warcraft 1, 2, and 3 are too basic as RTS games, but when the games helped to define RTS as a genre, that's like saying Super Mario Bros. 1 was too basic for a console side scrolling adventure game. Of course it was basic. It was the first game to bring the genre to the masses. World of Warcraft is a huge waste of time. I've tried to get into it, but I just don't see the point in paying for boredom.
  18. I don't like. It's too basic for a tablet. That's like buying a premium set of prismacolor pencils so you can scribble like a five year old. Waste of money if you ask me.
  19. I like it. It's simple. The only improvement I'd suggest would be stroking out the text to a background color to make it a little more readable. When the "M" in venom overlaps the character image, the letter outline is practically lost. But coming from one photoshop artist to another, it's nice to see you aren't using some psycho unreadable font. Font's don't have to look bad ass.
  20. I don't get it. These aren't original sprites. They're just sprite edits. Why is everybody giving so much credit? Sprite edits and color edits are for newbs.
  21. Hey, everybody. I just downloaded ForsakenRO about three days ago. I'm a level 115 swordsman, but I'm brand new to all the lingo used on the server. I really haven't been able to group up with other players because I don't speak internet shorthand. Despite that, I think ForsakenRO is a really shibby game and I'll continue playing.
