Just because art is famous doesn't mean it's good. Art's one of those things that shouldn't really be talked about in terms outside of skill because it's about as futile as talking about religion. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. I wasn't attempting to change anyone's opinion. Just offering my own, even if it was a tad destructive.

I agree, but I also think half of the equation is that the sellers aren't actually doing any research into fair selling prices to begin with. Instead, they just throw some ridiculous price on the item and hope it sells. The item's actual in-game value then becomes the mean of the item's fair selling price, and the price that the richest players are willing to fork over for it. The item's price won't go back down until the item gets added to new quests and becomes more available on the server. Losing population may actually make item prices plateau rather than drop as fewer buyers doesn't always mean less willingness to pay absurd prices for items. So long as new users aren't willing to do their own research before making a convenience purchase, prices will likely remain inflated.

KUOCH, if you can rip me an image of the head facing either left or right, I wouldn't mind doing this for ya. You don't need to worry about cutting the image out. Just upload a screen grab to an image host and pass me the link. I'd prefer a PNG or BMP file type. Jpeg will likely come out looking far too artifacted and compressed.

Not that I'm a big fan of Motley Crew or anything, but I'm pretty sure most of their stuff was 1980's, not 1990's. I have an itching feeling you knew that already and you were just waiting on some dumb ass to point it out.

What I don't understand is why this dumb ass isn't using their creative talents to do something more... useful? I wouldn't consider this art. It's just an attention whore with too much time on their hands. Yeah... It's chill. I overreacted anyway. I'll relax a lot once I get to know people around here a little and get a good understanding of the overall feel of the community. So much for the Castlevania topic, though. I think I screwed it up pretty well. I don't imagine we could get back on topic after two pages of bitching at each other. I'll let this drop off the first page and create a new and improved version.

If you keep plugging along with it, nobody stays a noob unless they just give up. After about a decade, I quit pixel and game graphic art and moved into photoshop because with the exception of the freeware and homebrew community, you'd have to strike it VERY lucky to actually get paid for 2D pixel art and animation, or you'll also end up having to learn programming languages, flash scripting, and a myriad of other complex applications to compete. A lot of people get burned out on pixel art because it's so intense and time consuming, and the payoff isn't all that rewarding. 2D artists are treated like poop within the game homebrew community, despite putting far more time into their work than basic 3D game artists. If you're going to continue, just make sure you're doing it for you. The moment you stop focusing on what YOU want to create and begin making pixel art for other people, the fun little hobby you began with turns into a job that you likely won't get paid for, and the whole idea loses it's appeal. Perhaps it'll be different for you; I can only speak from my experiences.

It's not arrogance. It's just naivety. I didn't know these peeps were working inside a limited color pallet. Well, I honestly don't think that applies to this post anyway, as the source images are already pallet corrected and it is just a simple copy/paste job. The majority of color edits on the net ARE just simple hue/saturation changes. I'm sorry I lumped you in with THOSE noobs. I just didn't know.

But your comment was both condescending and unnecessary. In retrospect, I was going to come back and edit the post to remove that "dick" comment. Honestly, my apologies. That was very over-the-top. Had you not have posted at all, the original poster would have eventually cleared things up, and I doubt they would have brought my intelligence into question as you did. I get it. I'm the newbie. You're afforded some room to pick on me, and that's absolutely excusable. I just wish you would have saved it to prove me wrong somewhere, because at least it'd be justified at that point.

In any other situation, I'd be all for going back to college. I was working toward saving for tuition before I got kicked out of the house and lost my job. Unfortunately, in my situation, a part time job would only go to pay for college and I wouldn't have enough money otherwise to afford moving out of my parent's place. In anticipation of my future, I'd rather remain working crappy jobs for the next five years than remain living with my 'spawn of satan' parents for another 3 to 5 years. I seriously look back on my childhood and wonder how the hell I made it through without coming out of the situation a horribly disgruntled and twisted person.
