Hm. I've managed to survive a lower-end asura using tao/tao and two devis, that wasn't quite 700k hp though since I had no skolls on. I usually do tao/gr either way on pally; since a second tao doesn't actually add 30% on top of that; it adds more like 40-50k hp. Kinda disappointing. Asura actually hits me for quite a lot on pally since I usually use gtb and two skolls, even with combat knife and fshield. Sometimes I use grimtooth and skoll/rayd or skoll/dev if I'm feeling adventurous, especially for WoE; which brings my HP down to a meager 500k-600k but increases my survivability by tons. Note that I use neither SGW/fluffy or peco peco wings on my pally; yet.
