Kuyuti Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Self Explanatory. Just a place in the Forums where Flaming is allowed. It usually ends up being a great section to read and quite funny if you are a GM. It also builds relationships between people and helps makes rivalrys more clear and distinct :)
Lucius Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I suggested it to Genesis long ago, he implemented it kinda, but it's called "Rants" section and flaming isn't allowed.
Devotion Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I frankly don't find many flames funny. There's no place really where it's allowed. If you want to flame try a guild sub-forum, but even then people can report you. I think rivalry on this server is distinct enough ;P
Amitsu Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Lucius says: y so srs well flames include jokes and etc, if you don't want any flames against you don't get involved with the person who may start flaming you. OR don't do stuff that might piss someone off cuz that leads to flames. but yes it can make rivalry and relationships more clear actually.
Millenia Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 With flaming comes drama and drama is something people don't want. =__= fRO isn't a place to flame people, lameideaislame.
Kuyuti Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 Well MMos live off of Drama. Every MMo would be dead and extinct if Drama did not take place. That is just a fact. Some flames aren't funny I will admit that. Vulgar, Obscene, and racial flames are better left in PMs not in open conversations I agree with that. But what I mean i just a place where someone could post a picture of like someone that they killed and just be like n00bs nabz ect. I mean that way people see who is against who more clearly and who just talks mess and who does business. I can't really tell the distinct rivalrys on this server yet and I have ran around in WoE. To be honest I don't know who to kill during WoE or who is a serious threat. Other than who gest the Emp room. Only thing I really know is the Allies of my Guild. So I really don't think it is quite distinct. I just think a little flame section would intensify the competition for MvPs and during WoE... So yeah :O I mean if you don't agree with it that is ok...
Devotion Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 If you want to make your rivals clear say it to those specific people. The majority of FRO likely isn't interested in knowing other's flames. Knowing who the threats are and who's stronger than who takes time. There are people here who don't want to have a fame section, it is extremely stressful and for some needless. However if you truly want this done, address Genesis and ask for a guild Sub-forum for this specifically. Then make a topic asking who would like the password. But I'm still not convinced.
Terroryst Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 BAHAHAHHAHA, HO SHIT! I suggested this ages ago, man.
geldaz Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 ''The majority of fRO'' Since when you talk for the whole server? It's your OPINION ,not ''OUR''.
Amitsu Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 owned. flames may be bad but it also creates good memories.
Devotion Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 If you want it ask Genesis. Frankly, making fun or flaming people in YOUR server and your community doesn't show the server's best side. And no matter if people say, oh it's ok we're just gonna joke, we're not serious, people will QQ
Lucius Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I would completely annihilate the flaming section. The staff worries about it :] How about a few rules there: Only flame anyone that posts in the thread If a GM enters the flaming forums, they may be flamed at and cannot seize or calm the flame down, they may not penalize members either You may call someone out to the flame-fest, if they refuse, we'll know more about them, if they agree, then either may start by posting in the flame forum or thread about them Enter the forum or thread at your own risk, the staff or any other member is not responsible to your QQ MMORPGs are built by flames and controversy, with no enemies come no PvP, with no PvP come no servers, anyways, this server lacks drama, it just makes it boring as you've already probably read people say in-game. So make the forums a bit more, entertaining. Also it'll help me in school. I need to practice debating and arguing. :]
Devotion Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 haha that's the problem. Certain people would be so brutal, many would complain and then we have a huge flame fest, and we end up closing it.
Lucius Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 haha that's the problem. Certain people would be so brutal, many would complain and then we have a huge flame fest, and we end up closing it. That's not a problem. If certain people are so brutal, then the ones being offended have all the right to just not respond in the thread, durrr? It'll be their choice whether to enter the thread or not, they don't have a gun pointed at them forcing them to flame back and read the rules I said. They may be called out before even being brought up under a flame-worth argument and they may reject or accept it. We're like, all human and none of us are 10 years or younger, at least I hope so I mean, Ragnarok IS at T game meaning 14+. We're smart enough to make decisions. Now unless some players are mentally retarded then that's something else you know, that there would be their parent's fault.
Sorrow Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 For some reason in the internet, there's no such thing as controled flame, if it starts it ends on insults and low words sooner or later, usually sooner.
Kuyuti Posted January 20, 2009 Author Report Posted January 20, 2009 From my experience a flame section, even an open one has never hurt a server at all, if anything it has helped them. I mean just being able to go some place to rub in your enemies face that you beat them is good enough. I think their are two sides to see this. The Sensitive side and a The factual side. I don't agree with the media most of the time or the presidential elections that take place during the US. The huge debates and other things that take place concerning the presidential debate. The finger pointing ect. But it does show you who is competing and what they are like with their hooks un attached. It shows the world and everyone who they are. I mean a flame forum could easily sway a member to join a guild or not just by seeing someone dominate the flame forums or by simply seeing who is getting and who is not. If you are not american my example may come across as a few farfetched but I hope it helps...
Lucius Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 For some reason in the internet, there's no such thing as controlled flame, if it starts it ends on insults and low words sooner or later, usually sooner. Yeah, flames are inevitable. So, if you instead of control, "cage" the flame, it won't spread anywhere else. Say, if you start a fire in a wooden house, the fire will spread. If you start a fire in a concealed, air tight, compact, nonburnable steel room... The fire will remain in the room and burn itself. &Yeah, from what I've noticed too from servers, Flame Sections tend to control the server more rather than have the staff try to control all the flames.
Amitsu Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 and i hear 7 year olds say fuck and i hear about 13 year olds having sex (my ex's first time) i mean you learn about SEX in 4th grade. come on. i swore all the time in elementary school. nothing new buddies.
Lucius Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 This is a flame post section suggestion, not the flame post itself. x
Devotion Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 -Insane- you're almost at 90% warn. I'm giving you a chance. Don't do something stupid like that again. Next time I will raise your warn. I know you meant it to mock the topic itself, and you weren't serious, but please refrain.
