Logistic Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Hi everybody. I'm new to Forsaken. I started on Friday night at around 5am. My friends and I were pulling an all nighter playing Left 4 Dead when my friend Dashwood brought up RO which we haven't played in like, 2/3+ years. I forgot all about it and we dead set on the idea of starting back up. I was browsing the servers, and man, Forsaken looked to good to be true. I quit RO due to the reason that servers were just...trash on the private side. Till now, that was true. Forsaken is really a true piece of art. But yes, yes. You'll usually see me around on my priest (Logistic Priest). My 2 friends are damage classes, so I figured I'd help them with the heal side of things, and maybe a few holy lights here and there. Well, that's my introduction for now. :D -Logistic
Cirrus Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Nice intro, welcome to Forsaken Ragnarok Online... mang. ;)
» Pat Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Welcome to ForsakenRO; enjoy your stay. (:
Defiance Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Should you have other questions and concerns, feel free to ask us (and that includes everyone here). I know, we're friendly like that.
The Black Santa Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Welcome to the server. Heh, too good to be true indeed. I AM THE BLACK SANTA!!!
DeAmascus Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Agreed with Blueberry and Mezri. ~Welcome, and glad you love it here. It IS A great server. =]
Logistic Posted November 26, 2008 Author Report Posted November 26, 2008 Well, it was fun while it lasted. To good to be true, indeed. It really is a true piece of art, and a great server...but! Like I said in my first post (I think, heh) - my two friends and I started playing on Friday night (well, I guess Saturday morning hence it was around 5-6am) and yeah, one of my friends, xdan, was brand new to the game as my other friend and I were not. xdan was farming in moc_pryd04 with my other friend and was falsely accused of botting. At the time, he did not know what was going on and by time he figured out that there was a GM pming him with the words "Respond" - he had to ask my other friend how to PM (we're always in Ventrilo together, he's never had to even like, use chat other than to warp) and yeah, banned. His case is pretty much assured to have him remained banned, and man, that's rather lame. He was brand new to the game, heck, he didn't even know what botting is. He had no clue what was going on, but there is nothing I can do to persuade the GM otherwise. Bye.
Logistic Posted November 26, 2008 Author Report Posted November 26, 2008 Well, the problem is; he didn't know how to PM nor did he know what was going on in general. Heck, he didn't even know botting existed as he just started a few days prior and was just starting to get the feel of the game. He submitted a ticket, there is no "proving" it, the screen shots implicate him almost acting like a bot as he was sitting there with googly eyes not knowing anything that was going on. He was confused beyond all means, and I suppose that makes him look like he is botting. It's not the GM's fault, I get where they are coming from, but I wish they'd be a bit more open and faithful in some of their players. It's not like I'm a begging troll, I tried talking to the GM sophistical for like, an hour...no use there.
iRawr Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Actually I almost got banned for the same thing. I was playing with my alchemist in for_fild02, farming Ygg's and you know the usual. When a GM spoke (It was in PM) but the PM seems to be the same colour as the GM speaking so I just thought the GM was speaking to the server. It was only because the GM said "please reply" that I realised he was talking to me and I responded. If the GM didnt say "Please reply" I would of kept on playing thinking the GM was talking to the server and probbly got banned. I think GM's PM colours should be different from other players and their server messages to lesson confusion when your a suspision of botting. Anyways please dont leave because of this, if your friend can make a new account get him to. It doesnt take long to get abck what you had. Heck I can make a lvl 255/255 in two days and if money is the problem just PM me ingame and I'm sure I'll be able to lend you some. ~ InFeCtious
Devotion Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 I spent at least half an hour with you explaining the entire thing. There is no need to post it here. I understand he was new, but there are many ways to let a GM know you are not a bot. xdan simply acted like one. He didn't stop, he didn't sit or do anything to indicate he had control of his character. You yourself said he had nothing of value on that character. I told you he is not IP banned. He can make another character, and he is more than welcome to do so.
DeAmascus Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Devotion, honestly...seriously..think about it. Why would someone STOP killing and trying to LVL, if there's still nothing they can do. So he would've stopped, it's not like it would've proved anything either way. What if they clicked auto-attack on a monster that would take 2-3 min's to kill and went to go grab a sandwich? came back and there he is.... =p I think the GM's should at least LISTEN, or if that doesn't work...take it up with high authority, Like Zeitgeist or Genesis. Most of the time if you explain something to them, they'll listen and do something about it.
Devotion Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 I already mentioned, I spent more than enough time with the player's friend discussing everything with him. The screenshots I have are posted so all the GM's, including Zeitgeist and Genesis can see them. a) He Storm Gusted my disguised GM and warped right away. b) He never stopped, not once, never slowed down, never did anything to indicate to me he wasn't a bot. c) The monsters in moc_pryd04 do not take that long to kill. And I doubt an afk person can get something to eat AND warp around killing. I have discussed this enough. He is free to make another character.
