Sorrow Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 every server has GTB, problem is; it works 100% in here at a drop rate of 10% and it kills the essence of my favorite jobs T.T as well as stagnates the pvping population into only 4 dominating jobs. "Ways around it"? If i got a dollar for each time i've read that in here i could donate to get enough coups to buy a thana card...and let me tell you; from all the methods actually told after this one phrase, none of them is functional to restore the rightful place of the casters among the server =/
Defiance Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Let me assure you that PvP is not limited to 4 dominating jobs here. Sure, you might see more Paladins, Sinx, Champs, and LKs in this server, but there's more to PvP than just sticking with a class that "owns". People also play Sniper, Clown/Gypsy, Creators, and even stalkers/Melee Priest/Professor (despite with FCP), and still own with it. If you look at it carefully, the deciding factors in between duels always fall down into 3 questions: 1. Am I skilled enough with my class/have enough experience with it? 2. Do I have enough equips? 3. Who am I up against and what tactics available in my range that I can use? If you can fill in those questions with a positive reply, then you can own pvp with almost any class. Creativity owns hindrances anytime. If there's one thing more overpowered than a bottle-bombing Creator, that is a magic spamming wizard/Professor. Please do not feel left out with GTB around. There's more to PvP than just Magic Spamming like a dominican god. Mage Crasher has been boosted, get FCP, Safety wall yourself, get speed boosting items, and you'll be set for a PvP experience you'll never forget. Oh and Mage Crasher works with Icepick/Thanatos, so you'd have a better chance at it. Go melee hybrid and keep running around and wait until FCP runs out. You can even put a triple LOD+Phree rod for the win. Improvise.

Damn it! i don't want to go 100% meelee with a magician! if i wanted that i'd choose a meelee class! XD Besides magic is so easy to counter without GTB.

I mean, get 195 aspd, a phree weapon with mage-crasher cards + incant/thana, icepick (if you don't have a thana), and probably some strip cards. Oh and those badges that gives agi up/speed pots will greatly help. Moonlight Flower cards are a must, or you can do dual fbh. Sometimes I ask myself, why do people pwn? I mean, I can't own without my gears right? Yes, to own people, we must be well funded. I mean, an asura strike wizard (ifrit rings) will definitely pwn when timed right. Since wizards already got massive SP, all they need is to get around 100 str for carrying and that lucky asura. The possibilities are endless if you think outside the box. If ever I get to fund my Wizard again, I'll show you what I mean. Yes, I'll give you a live demo. Oh and no, I DO get it. Ever since the amount of GTB increased in the server, I began to play my Wizard less. GTB literally made my Wizard obsolete the first month, but then again, there's always a solution for everything. I battled several GTB-wearing Wizards/other characters in for_fild02 back then, so this not based on theory. So Wizard vs Wizard, I did have GTB on, but I tricked them by having a mage crash weapon and icepick on me (yes, I never had a thana). I had 195 aspd, meaning to say I can toy around with my opponent for a bit, strip them, or even coma them. I had around 100 str, and that's enough. I either Mage Crashed them to death, or strip their clothing off before bombarding them with magic. Long ago, it was just elemental armors and potions, but noooo, they just had to GTB on me. I either wore expert rings with wikibine tres cards, or ifrit rings. Man, you should've seen them run. You could also use Orlean's Gloves with Wikibine Tres on, and do a strip then Stave Crash combo. Oh and so what if they had FCP on? Get one yourself. Fighting without FCP is suicide, but there's an easy way to get bottles as well so its not that complicated. I find a Wizard that knows how to run more charming than a wizard who just stands there and AoE's everyone.

Go melee hybrid and keep running around and wait until FCP runs out. And still there is just one way to win. Play a build you don't want to play. You guys can open nx threads about GTB and write endless walls of text again and again. The result will always stay the same.

A shame i know, but this is how things are here. Worst of it, is being called a crybaby or that we are bitching only because we want to join in and have fun like everyone else.

If we edit drop rate, GTB will RUIN the economy leading to the 2-3 Qpons Turtle Generals again. Please don't talk about GTB here. We've been through this so many times, its not even funny.

It helps me...feel better i guess? XD It won't help anything as did the others...game-wise i say. As much as people think i should "deal with it", they sure not know how much times i went to pvp arena and people only slap GTB on and proceed insulting that i'm useless, that i don't know how to play, that i suck, etc,etc...only because i wanted to play with them XD They sure don't know what it's like to fund a character with everything you get only to become completely useless because of a single cheap card... No one cares about this right? But i care and i would care for others if i was in a different spot. If GTB gave full imunity to physical attacks i would complain as much as i do with this one; it's not fair to exclude classes like this. Mages&cia live in the slums of forsaken city only coming out to do the lowly and tedius work of farming. irantirantirantasmuchasiwant XD and i'm not flaming anybody too ^^

Does refusing a duel, when I clearly know they have fcp and gtb...Make me a coward? Not to mention I'm a prof, so I don't even have stave crasher. What am I supposed to do? Run? Run for my life until their fcp runs out? Not to forget that my class doesn't have a speed bonus, so I'm forced to rely on speed pots/items. Just so I can have a small chance to run for SIX minutes, or around that amount of time. Trying NOT to die. And then when their FCP does run out, I pray to god they don't have FCP scrolls or a creator nearby? Not to mention I have to SURVIVE in their RANGE using melee tactics trying to STRIP them. With no less then one of the WORST HP BONUSES out of all the classes! LOLOLOLOL. You're kidding me. Amirite? Believe me when I say, I've had on the best full reduction possible and been 3 shotted by normal attacks. By more then half of the other classes, even trying to get close to strip people. Now how many of you can ygg every one to three hits when someone is hitting you at 195 aspd. God forbid that they're duel weilding or using anything that hits more then ONCE. AAANNDDD the icing on the cake is.......!!!!! You can't even carry 100 YGGS!!!! ...More like 50... ...........maybe

Getting int enough to cause decent damage, insta cast and max aspd leaves not much points for str and vit, which by the way ARE the atributes that grants survival; Vit for defence and HP and Str for carrying yggs, which by the way are pretty heavy, each point of Str lets you carry ONE berry, carrying more equipment sets? it's like one extra armor and one extra mantle if you want to carry enough yggs to survive a little =P We get mocked, our skills are insulted and when we run around we are cowards...

I think I use more yggs on restoring my sp, because I wasted spells on gtb users. And it wont' restore naturally because I'm at 89% Lol. LOL. Also, I did go pure int for awhile. Doing double cast + buffed cast. Which...for people's information is roughly around 100k per bolt series. [WITH NO REDUCTIONS] So with a double cast, it ranges 140k-200k total. Even with two kiels, spamming as fast as I could. Most people who didn't wear a gtb, could out ygg my dps. Lol? So now, even if they don't have gtb I refuse duels on my prof. Instead I spend it mostly for hunting and/or mvping. Which it's quite good at. Despite the fact it annihilates your hands with the new mvp mod. I've been considering just giving up on the magic classes in general. Bad at pvp and now mvping comes at the cost of ruining your hands. I might as well play a weaker sniper. At least then I can hurt people, and just one click mvps.

But seriously, i think this whole matter revolves in the fact that people are lazy in general..."why should i worry about magic if i can use only one card to own it?" then they can center everything else to defend against meelee attacks, but seriously, it kills the variety... How much people out there really make up for Tao's drawback(the -50 Mdef)? But hey...why should they worry that their mdef is -100 if no magic will affect them anyways?

I'm sitting on maybe 5 mil, and 36 Donation coupon's. I've worked hard for what I have, so it is only understandable that I should be able allowed to be a powerhouse. Do you think a good Asura or MR comes out of nowhere? No, they don't. If anything we have to spend just as much, if not more than a mage to keep our damage up. Anyway, whatever. >.< The only time I really use my GTB is: 1.) Some jerk is casting on me when I'm not doing anything other than sitting there chatting with friends. (Yes, this is not cute, stop doing it, I don't care if it's firebolt lvl 1, knock it off.) 2.) I take my creator into LHZ3 to level a friend. 3.) God I hate ninjas (Actually, I just hate their cicada skin skill or whatever it's called.)
