» Pat Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 So; this has been suggested before but I couldn't find the topic in any of the sub-categories nor in the normal 'Suggestion-forum', so I'm just bringing this up again. My suggestion is to change the skill Scream / Dazzler of Gypsies. The reasons for this are obvious. Gypsies already have a big disadvantage with not having as powerful songs as their partners, Clowns. Clowns for example have 'Apple of Idun', and 'A Poem of Bragi' while a Gypsy's only useful song gives +100 hit. So I suggest to change Scream / Dazzler to either Freeze or Stone Curse. Input please.

They get the other dances when linked anyways...

Frost Joke is rendered useless with Forsaken King Sets, not to mention it gets you killed when you freeze the wrong people. PvP-wise, Gypsies are a much practical class in unannounced duels.

First off you'd have to wait 5 seconds before you can cancle the skill or you use the dagger combo, which would be Slow Grace -> Dagger -> Whip -> Attack. All this just to make my enemy a little slower? No thanks. And about the Freeze & F King set. LOL? Did you just try to tell that Stun is more useful than Freeze? If only one part of the Forsaken Kings set is broken, you are completely vulnerable to Freeze but how should a Gypsy get the enemiy's vit below 100? Impossible. Slow Grace > Apple of Idun & Poem of Bragi? I can answer this question with an easy LOLNO.
» Pat Posted October 20, 2008 Author Report Posted October 20, 2008 Offensively, It doesn't just make the enemy a little slower, it slows them a LOT which in turn, if used correctly, can give you a HUGE advantage over your enemy - distance - considering the class' skills are ranged. To discredit that means you don't know how to take advantage of the class. You don't have to even switch from whip to dagger to whip to cancel the dance, you can just change whips and attack right away. It's not hard. If you aren't willing to acclimate your gameplay or hotkeys to some uh, .1 second switching, maybe you shouldn't consider the class. The only benefits of having Apple of Idun and Poem of Bragi are for buffs. It's not like they affect the caster. But hey - there's this awesome thing called a SOUL LINK in which you can not only get the Clown dances, but you can also make it affect yourself! No more crying about not having the more "powerful' of the dances. I never said Slow Grace was useless. However this is not about Slow Grace, Bragi, Apple of Idun or whatever, it's about Scream / Dazzler. To the Soul Link. I don't like the idea of always getting Soul Link after, what is it, 10 minutes ( ? ). If I want to play Gypsy, then I want to play Gypsy. Not Soul Linker. All I want is to give Gypsies the big advantage Clowns have. Slow Grace isn't that much of a re-balancing, in my opinion. Oh& don't try to correct me or try to tell me which class I should play or not. You play it your way, I play it my way.

There definitely should be some differentiation between the two genders, as they are essentially two different classes - the clown and the gypsy. However, there is still an imbalance that has yet to be solved in a high rate server! Scream is more useful in a server in which not everyone has the card, or stat (which is 100+ vit), to gain immunity to stun. This aspect of high rate servers renders gypsies less powerful than their male counterparts. I don't care about what dances each class gets, since a soul link equalizes the differences anyways. And we all know how proficient fRO players are at dual-client-buffing. :] So, I advocate getting back on track to the topic at hand, and changing the effect of scream to freeze or stone curse. If you really want to be fair to the letter, then I would change it to freeze and not stone curse, since there's only a select few that get the Soldier Card. I think changing it to Stone Curse, while keeping the two genders different, will give gypsies more of an advantage, since everyone hates that status.

Proportionally, Max VIT 99=1% Stun protection for each 1VIT Max VIT 300=1% Stun protection for each 3 VIT (+or-)
