Sorrow Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Okay, the tittle sums it up. i would like to ask to all of you, What kind of unexpected dirty tricks were used on you? :sad01_anim: The objective; i fight fair so it totally knocks me off balance when someone exploits game features to take advantage of me amidist of a combat =/ so i'd like to know how much of these there is around, i can instantly recall two things that were used on me when i think about this topic; *Tele-Storm Gust=i named it after how it happened. As a sniper fighting a wizzie, she casted storm gust and just kept warping in the same place, i couldn't lock her as target as i kept being hit by her storm gust contiously. Seriously, couldn't counter that without switching to my professor. *TrojanHorse=named after the fact of how it was based. Champ went to asura me, i SWed as i started to cast bolts on the champ, he like...proposed a deal to me oO As the deal window blocked my view of everything that was happening in the battle field, the left click he used already started decreasing my SW duration and after it faded i got asuraed while i was trying to deny the deal XD. Now i know the utility of /notrade...seriously never expected taht to happen to me >_> Now tell me if you know anymore ^^
Rosed Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 *Tele-Asura= Asura some peeps then teleport back to the town. lol
Ryoji Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Multi-Warping: This name might be wrong. Those who hotkey multiple points on a map, in a circle or formation around an area. Then proceed to attack from multiple points and switch around to the opposite side when under attack. So they eventually cheap shot you 50 times from 50 directions. I usually only see Wiz, champ, and sniper do this.
Rosed Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 There's nothing wrong with these tricks, I think. They're just fighting with a different tactic, or style. :)
geldaz Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Dirties trick? GTB + FCP. ): Shit I love you. nohomo.
Sorrow Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 i discovered another couple tricks(one i remmebered the other was victmin of today XD), the first used to work better before but can work nicely now too with some preparation. *ArtifactShield=kill mobs around you so their drops make it harder(in some cazes nearly impossible) to be targetted. *LikeAMonster=mob monsters and use cloaking when near your opponent then click him/her. The mobs will switch to your victmin and there you have your own AI gang =D works better on LHZ where mobs are strong enough to be lethal. you can also surprize attack people as they level on lhz. There's nothing wrong with these tricks, I think. They're just fighting with a different tactic, or style. :) hnnn...different tactic=change equipments to be ready for another situation. Different Style=use different skills to become more imprevisible in action. Dirty tricks=exploit of game features that weren't supposed to be used like that. Big of a problem, i don't see ^^ this is only to make a list of this..."different style" and spread them abouts. People who like can use and people who hate can counter ^^ Dirtiest trick? GTB + FCP. ): this is the King of the dirty tricks =/ someone has yet to create an effective counter.
CombatMuffins Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 A wizzy getting tele-storm gusted (as you might say) vs a sniper? Dude the SG isn't that big of a area I believe, get as far as you can in distance and Spam DS he will eventually move towards you or warp away.
Impulse Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 a player duel clienting to get 1st place ladder
Horny Posted October 20, 2008 Report Posted October 20, 2008 a player duel clienting to get 1st place ladder I see that alot lately.. pretty lame.
Defiance Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 this is the King of the dirty tricks =/ someone has yet to create an effective counter. Survive for around 5-10(?) minutes and FCP will eventually run out. While the Opponent is in GTB, there is a very high risk that they'll receive a higher percentage of damage, maybe not magic-wise, but from melee and range skills. For example, a Minstrel/Gypsy can survive an asura champ that's full-buffed/fcped/GTB and will in turn, proceed to shield-break and tarot dispel(although some say tarot dispel bypasses GTB) after the buff's duration has expired. But while the buff/fcp/GTB is still intact, they can still try some other things like bombard the target with AV or musical strike. Like stone curse, people fear being coma'd, that is why they occasionally switch to GTB. A Guillotine-wielding Lord Knight/Mastersmith can force an opponent to put GTB on, then immediately switch back to their damage weapon, enabling them to swiftly end the duel. A Prof can make the opponent wear GTB to avoid getting Coma'd, which in turn allows them to switch into something more radical; Their hard-cover elite books. For a pure int wizard, their average Stave Crasher can do around 15k on Usakoring, wherein they could be "like" a whitesmith and boost it up to 20-30k with their opponent having GTB on+ elements. There's Safety Wall, speed potions and moonlight flower card. They can compensate their lack oh HP with quote: Eyeshield21-like running skills. Of course, tinkering with hybrid builds greatly helps. GTB and FCP isn't always the end of the road for people. When they can't afford to get hit, then try hard NOT TO get hit.
Levis Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Last time 2 Sinx vs me. Coma user + SB + Back Slider + Cloaker = Perfect Gang. I used my GTb and skolls and can't knock both down since they backslide.
Sorrow Posted October 21, 2008 Author Report Posted October 21, 2008 Ganging is another issue...after beating a wizzard WITHOUT using gtb(legit victories) series of times to defend my hydra spawn, he called a sinx to gang me along with him and there i didn't stand much of a chance XD Survive for around 5-10(?) minutes and FCP will eventually run out. Nothing i haven't heard/read/thought of, nice theories but let me tell you...words make it much seem easier than it actually is.
Clasian Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 In my opinion when you're getting ganged by two different people, with decent skills and equipments...just give up. Unless you are 100% sure or you are confident in yourself in yourself that you'll emerge as the victor, don't go up against ganging by yourself. Just either log out or get killed. Wasting YGGs and time on two people that hold 150 Yggs each deal 10k/195Aspd X 2 is bad enough. Coma just adds to the fun. I generally never go against reflect pallies. Maybe I am too noob or something but 32k reflects hurts me more than it hurts him/her. 250 Yggs? Thought so.
Defiance Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 Nothing i haven't heard/read/thought of, nice theories but let me tell you...words make it much seem easier than it actually is. No theories. These are actual battle scenarios that I've experienced. I've witnessed this done sometime ago, the clown was mine, and so does the LK (other LKs do that as well), the WS was someone I fought before, and the Wizard was Gilgamesh's (Wizard vs all of us in PvP), mine (back in the early days when for_fild02-06 were still PK areas), and the Professor was Blueberry's and Ami's.

Defiance Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 You're exaggerating. Of course they won't win the ladder because they can't do so when they're being jumped by every character around. What I'm saying is, even if they can't mass-pvp against everyone out there, they can still pretty much hold their ground even when being ganged. Its not about laddering. Its about improvising. You might not be the best that slays everyone, but you are never impaired in battle, especially in tight situations.
Sorrow Posted October 22, 2008 Author Report Posted October 22, 2008 Why some average equiped palladins&cia have much better performances than full fleged wizzards&cia? i get your point on what you said but i'm talking about this a wizzard locked on a couple skills and a professor going full meelee? They became parodies of what they were supposed to be because of a single card...now tell me this isn't dirty? What a full potetial indeed... Oh not sure if this is done in this server by any guild, but emp hugging is another of those tricks XD lots of people around the emp to avoid anyone to click in it, used to be a forbidden tactic on any other server i've played.

Then Sean dropp'd before I ever clicked him. Now THAT'S a good time.
