ToastOfDOOM Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 So ive seen this creator sitting in treasure01 (sunken ship) at the mass hydra spawn room. AFK farming. Murdered his Homunculus and left him to die by hydras. Four hours later his corpse is still there. -edit- if it is legal then i see no reason for naming. AFK farming a yay or a nay? Last i was active the homunculus was hardly even working, now its a nice little farm bot for some.
Lenik Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 another thread complaining about this WONDERFUL
ToastOfDOOM Posted October 13, 2008 Author Report Posted October 13, 2008 Im sorry, i fail to see the complaint. Read topics in context maybe twice in your case before commenting somthing completely unrelated. I was Questioning if it was legal as it isnt on all servers. kthxbai
Episcopal Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 AFK farming is illegal. The thing is, if people go AFK nowadays, they can get killed easily as PvP in almost all maps again. So if you see a creator just being AFK, kill him and your problem is solved.
kuoch Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 thats not gonna stop them from coming back though. /ho
Defiance Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Ask a GM to recall+warn the AFKer. Such action is punishable, and it falls into the category of "failure to cooperate with Game Masters". They may not get punished if: 1.) They listened to the warning and behaved accordingly, and 2.) if they completely stopped at first and second warn. Failure to do so varies on the Game Master's criteria, often ranging from 2-5 hours of jail and mute. -taken from an old discussion made some months ago.
Ryoji Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 However the rule differs for the farming method I believe reading some time ago. That I've noted, farming using your hommunculus and afking is against the rules. Because the hummonculus runs off an AI which would be considered a 3rd party program. As long as you're not afking, you're not considered breaking any rules. However....Hommunculus must eat every so often, so no one can be definite afk.. So it can't be as judged as hard as some would like it to be. However, there are other methods to farming afk that are about the same too. I'll let you find those out on your own. I think.
geldaz Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 However....Hommunculus must eat every so often, so no one can be definite afk.. There's AI's too to feed your homoculus too. Well,whenever I seem AFKhemists I just kill them (;
Horny Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Nothing in the rule book says you cannot use Dark Lord Cards... and being afk in a pvp map is not agains`t the rules either... Just PK the AFK person, its as easy as that.
do_ob Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Because the hummonculus runs off an AI which would be considered a 3rd party program. Fail the AI is built into the ragnarok online client. Not a 3rd party program. Get your facts straight. Anyway, there are other ways to afk farm outside of a homunculus. Especially for hydra cards.
Ryoji Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Fail the AI is built into the ragnarok online client. Not a 3rd party program. Get your facts straight. Anyway, there are other ways to afk farm outside of a homunculus. Especially for hydra cards. You can still make your own AI and customize the script. And since it is part of the client itself it is not completely punishable. Read much? Normally if the custom client was NOT added into it, and you added it. Even if there was an original AI. You'd be punished by jail/ban/etc. Third-Party Assistant Programs (to use programs that aid/effect players' gameplay): This rule applies to any 'hunting bot' or a program of the sort. Hmm..Now let me think of the person who said that rule. Oh right. Genesis! Duh? My point being, since the custom script is put into it then it's not really botting. (Not mentioning modified script) However, it's still illegal to AFK hunt. Yet, it's hard to prove AFKing even if you are botting. Thus why recalls are common and banning for botting is not. Yet, that doesn't mean it still doesn't fall under GM discression. I'd watch who you mince words with, boy.
Ryoji Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 search button ... i win Hax, just saying that wins 98% of all threads though.
Defiance Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Lets not get all stingy on each other now if you know what I mean. If you see an AFKer, just PM him/her (or kill the person altogether). No reply? Report. Still no reply to a GM? Jail. Its as simple as that. If the person isn't afk, then that person is not violating any rules.
Ryoji Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 If I were a GM I wouldn't jail them for AFKing. That's just mean. ); Then again...I'm not a GM. Lolol. Else everything would be chaos. CHAOS!
