I also love Justin, BB King, Slash, etc. However, I wouldn't say they're the most talented guitarists, with all due respect. Slash is overrated; he's a rock icon, not a guitar virtuoso. Andy McKee and Justin try new innovative tapping techniques and write nice melodies with them. Very enjoyable to listen to.

When I'm asked who is the "best guitarist" (as in most talented guitarist), people like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Shawn Lane, Michael Angelo Batio, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Marco Sfogli and Guthrie Govan come to mind.

That's on my perspective dude, i remain biased on my opinion like you have yours but that doesn't mean i could compare everyone's talent with one another which is totally unneccessary because like i said they have their own style and own feel to it when they play. They have talents of their own that other people such as myself acknowledges it.

Look, I can understand you thinking other guitarists are better, but saying things like "Guthrie can suck it" and rejecting the thought of him having any talent/worth at all is plain immature. You don't hear me saying that Andy McKee or Justin can suck it; I have to respect them, even if I don't think they're the best.

But there are so many, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Doyle Dykes (Solo Artist), and for a bass player Les Claypool (Primus.) Well sorry, but there's too many shredders out there to NOT name more than one. . .

Its really damn hard. It's all about what you like and what you don't like. Edit : Actually, I came up with a more fitting one. It's like compaing a high jumper to a long jumper one. They're both jumping, but they're doing it in different ways. If your gonna find the best, then please setup a list of requirements to be the best. And if theres not, then how you do know that he(your so called "the best") is actually the best? We're all going by feeling atm, and I do think thats fine. But theres really no point in trashtalking eachothers thoughts about guitarists, even tough internet is made to trashtalk other peoples opinions. I gotta name Mark Knopfler, His guitar work has so much feeling in it, in my opinion. Really love it. Watch this and be amazed. Thank you so much for showing me that, awesome stuff.
