Icon Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 THE STORY OF A BOY WHO TURNS INTO A GIRL... ...A FATHER WHO TURNS INTO A PANDA... ...AND THE WEIRD CHINES CURSE THAT DID IT TO 'EM.. It's not easy being a cursed teenaged martial artist, Who turns into an incredibly well-built red-headed pigtailed girl, Who is constantly being pursued by a boy named Ryoga, Who always wants to fight, Who is hopelessly in love with Akane, Who is volunteered by her two older sisters and her father to wed Ranma, Who has a crazy Chinese Amazon warrior named Shampoo devoted to ripping him away from Akane, Who is the apple of an arrogant kendo expert's eye named Tatewaki, Who is not only in love with her but also loves the mysterious pig-tailed girl, a.k.a. Ranma, Who can't shake the affection of Tatewaki's sister Kodachi, Who will do anything to gain the love of Ranma, Who has a father that drug him out on a decade-long training mission named Genma, Who has shacked them both up with Akane, her sisters and their very excitable father Soun Tendo, Who runs the dojo "Anything-Goes Martial Arts" where all sorts of crazy things happen. OMG that got kinda hard. The name escapes me at the moment but my favorite character is the horny old grandpa. Ranma½ gets my vote for the best and most influential novel/manga/anime of all time. Not to mention the creator of Ranma½ is also the creator of other greats like Maison Ikkoku, The Return of Lum and the trendy Inu-Yasha.
Icon Posted August 14, 2008 Author Report Posted August 14, 2008 HAHA ... Shampoo has found her way into many of my pervy dreams :D can you remember granpa's name ... hoposai or something like that right
Icon Posted August 14, 2008 Author Report Posted August 14, 2008 I was doing "something" in the garage and found some of my old Ranma½ novels and I couldn't help myself. I can't believe out of all the anime in the world this one hadn't been mentioned yet. The copyright says 1988 ... I don't think I've owned em that long but its bound to be close. And, OMG I made myself feel old again.
Terroryst Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 I saw the movie, I forgot the title of it... It was like Rescue the Concubine or something, and I saw some episodes. It's pretty good.
lndalecio Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Lol, my first contact with Ranma 1/2 was several years back, around the time when I was in the fifth grade. Oh and I like Ukyo (the stir-fry pancake fiance on Ranma) over Shampoo and Akane. The pervy grandpa is Happosai, and he likes to collect a sack full of girl's lingerie. Ah, good times. But local cable channels here still broadcast it at a regular basis.
