But iuno, from the little time I spent with it, I felt like I needed to know more about computers to get things to work like I want, than I did for windows. Could have just been the small time I spent on it. Loving it thoughs?
Sensation Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 Linux is open source and not really user friendly as a beginner. Each distribution is different and I think Ubuntu is the most user friendly. Yet a lot still is done manually through a terminal. It takes a while to get used to an OS like this and each OS has it's advantage and disadvantage. Windows is an attractive OS for the hackers/virus creators on the Internet, yet the most user friendly and supported OS. Linux has no threat from the outside and a very supportive community with a lot of customisation, but lacks the support of certain things that are windows only(is being worked on though). Anyway as for backgrounds/themes, Linux is easier to customise, but the same things can be done with Windows, just takes a bit more research (: p.s. desktop cube is win.
