Hoodlum Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 I have a very strange problem: Whenever i type @ while ingame the map shows up. i need to type it twice to return to the game or type a warp for example to make it goes off. i have the language of the PC setted to italian, if i switch it to english it no longer shows up but then i no longer knows where all symbols are on the keyboard.. (yeah the letters are in the same position but not the symbols -.-) Have you any suggestion about this?
Enenra Posted August 5, 2013 Report Posted August 5, 2013 The in-game map is toggled by CTRL + " ` or ~ ", so it sounds like you are either incorrectly inputting the keys or the keys are arranged in a way that makes you press that input when you try to type an '@' symbol.
Hoodlum Posted August 6, 2013 Author Report Posted August 6, 2013 Yeah i don't really know why this is happening, i just press "@" on my keyboard and the map shows up.. There isn't any way to change these shortcuts right?
Enenra Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 Unfortunately not, shortcuts are stuck the way they are. I am not familiar with how an Italian keyboard is laid out and I am unable to replicate the issue you are having, but perhaps another GM or player could help you with this.
ChainBreak Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 Just using a standart QWERTY keyboard would help I guess.
Sensation Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 A default language switching combination might be the problem/solution to your problem. On most windows operating systems it is (both left-) CTRL+SHIFT, release and you'll be on the other language keyboard setting, can use SHIFT+2 for the @ sign then and switch back. As far as I remember the current client is made for US-international keyboards, which can't be set different in set-up or the client itself. There might be a modification available nowadays, but I've been away from this for too long to provide a direct (client) solution. Hopefully you can figure something out, here's an image of the US-international layout:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/22/KB_US-International.svg Blue is for the Alt-Gr (right ALT) button combinations and pressing Alt-Gr + Shift is for the blue ones on top, if you ever needed to know/use those.
