Marvellouz Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Hello everyone, I'm new to this server. I used the search function but didn't find an answer, so if there is any, I'm sry 4 it. To my problem: One week ago i downloaded the All-in-one installer. After having installed completely, there was a popup. "Malware found". My Kaspersky directly deleted the Patcher.exe but, however, i was able to play by running the fkenro.exe. However, this was only before the new update. Since the new update came, i wasn't able to get access to the maps, so i downloadet and installed the patch 2.8 manually with the "Small installer". Again the Poput "Malware found". I thought: No matter i can play anyway. But no way :D When the map-loading-screen reaches 100%, my whole computer crashes. Btw i followed the instructions for manual downloads of new patches. So can anyone help me? Thank you
Enenra Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 There is no malware in any of our downloads. Your anti-virus is detecting it as a false positive. I am not familiar with Kapersky but there should be an option to add an exception to the file it's detecting. As for your computer crashing, can you go into more detail? As in, does it blue screen then restart or just go to a black screen and restart, etc?

Background programs are still running, but there neither a way to switch to these programs, nor is there a chance of closing the "running" fkenro.exe. The only way to close it is by turning off the power button on my computer (windows 8). So Far
Enenra Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 I am not too familiar with how Windows 8 runs RO, but most players seem to run it without any issues. Sometimes the administrative parts of W8 will conflict with playing so I would recommend moving your fRO folder to somewhere outside of Program Files (perhaps your Desktop or My Documents folder). You can push ALT+TAB or ALT+SPACEBAR+N to return to the desktop when it's stuck, but that isn't the big concern here. From the sounds of it, you are using full screen. Try disabling full screen, that may fix it.
Marvellouz Posted July 27, 2013 Author Report Posted July 27, 2013 Ok thanks a lot 4 nice support, the exception solution solved the problem :)) But almost another problem appeared: I can't change the setup. It's in window mode and if i want to change to full screen mode, nothing happens. I tried to run fkenro.exe instead of patcher.exe but it didn't solve the problem. Is there a chance to change the setup ingame?
Enenra Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Nope, there is not a way to change the setup in-game. I am not sure if I am understanding your issue correctly, are you just trying to change it to full screen? If disabling full screen fixed the previous issue, it sounds like there is some kind of graphics issue with your computer and RO which will likely persist any time you have it full screen.
Bishop Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Run both of your FkenRO.exe and your setup.exe in compatibility mode. Choose the option Windows 7 and the changes applied in your setup.exe will apply to the client.
Marvellouz Posted July 27, 2013 Author Report Posted July 27, 2013 I'm sorry, maybe i didn't describe my issue correctly. I complete uninstalled the software after adding an exception for ragnarok. This solved my problem with the patcher. After reinstalling the sotware, everything seems fine. The patcher works. New problem: I can't activate full screen mode in the setup. I can't choose pixels. I can mark "full screen mode", but it's still in window mode. For me it seems that it has not something to do with my first problem. So far
