I'm not sure what would cause that if you reinstalled, especially if it was the Archer Summon Scroll as I've never had any problems using that item. It sounds like you have a custom AI or something that's causing it to error but I'm pretty unfamiliar with mercenaries and whether custom AI even works with them. Are you using the all-in-one installer?

The problems are probably being caused because you installed something incorrectly. Downloading the all-in-one should fix it.

This is being caused by the mercenary scroll you double clicked. You do not have the right AI files to make those work and thus it errors you out. The all-in-one has the ai folder, though the ai folder is a tiny tiny thing. I could give you the ai files but with you not having the all-in-one installed the chance on other errors would remain big. So I would also recommend you to install our game through our all-in-one installer :).

Just by downloading and installing the all in one you will have the files you are missing. No need to patch and all.
