Levis Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Since today, I am experiencing some unusual error: When I use the fkrenro.exe to log in directly and after typing in my password, a Win7 error pops up saying "SymFromAddr" couldnt be found in the DLL "dbghelp.dll". Whatever that may be. And also I have tried to log in via the Patcher, but once I open my patcher it says: 'Navigation to the webpage was canceled'. Every other application on my computer is running fine, apart from fRO... I've tried to reinstall it, downloaded the small patch again, used another Account on my Computer. I have no clue what the problem is.
Cookiezzzz Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Check your firewall. Have you made any changes to your antivirus?
Levis Posted August 1, 2012 Author Report Posted August 1, 2012 I haven't changed anything on my firewall nor on my antivirus, not as I know of.
Bishop Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 Try restarting computer as first. If the error persists run a virus and a mallware scan. If you have not deleted this file manually then there's a possiblity you have mallware on your computer. I do not recommend redownloading the individual dll file from a site so if I were you I would run the scans and perhaps do a system restore to a few days ago to make sure all system file changes are reverted. 1
Cookiezzzz Posted August 2, 2012 Report Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) Before the system restore, go to ur antivirus, and select quarantined items. Restore items that belong to forsaken ro (Missing dll file). If that doesn't work, I always do a virus scan just to be safe, Maybe the address was changed in the files. SymFromaddr error means it failed to retrieve the symbol from the server. I suggest a backing up then system restore to a point of time when it worked. Bishop beat me to it ._. Use iobit uninstaller to uninstall it. It also removes reg files left behind. What system do you use? And what browser? Someone might have used that file to make a backdoor. If none of these work, there could be something wrong with the coding. Edited August 2, 2012 by Cookiezzzz
Levis Posted August 2, 2012 Author Report Posted August 2, 2012 Well, thank you for your replies. I have already fixed it by doing a system restore on my Win7 (Glad that Win7 has that option) before I could check your replies. But I am glad to see people who are concerned with my issue and I am thankful for the replies that were given.
Bishop Posted August 3, 2012 Report Posted August 3, 2012 Glad it's fixed :) will be closing this now. If any other problems arise feel free to make a new topic or a ticket.
