When voting in the SOTW, we will be expecting you to fully understand the rules. Don't know the rules? Click here - - - - - Rules that the voter must understand: *Voters must have at least a post count of 10 in order to vote. *Contestants are not allowed to vote for themselves, but are now allowed to vote in the SOTW. *Judges' signature grades will be doubled (e.g., if a judge gives 10, it would count as 20). *Non-judge points will count for full credit. *Each voter must fill out at least one rubric for the entry of their choice. *Each entry must have at least 2-3 GOOD sentences in addition to the rubric. *Signatures will be based on a point-basis. - - - - - Voting Rubric: Rate each of the following categories from 1 to 5, with 5 being 'excellent' and 1 being 'ok/decent'... *Creativity - how creative the signature is. *Technical - how challenging the attempted idea. *Execution- how the idea is put together and how successful it is. *Aesthetic- how visually pleasing the signature is, regardless of how complex it may be. The somber lighting, the image of a girl with a tear rolling down her cheek.. You can't help but know that feeling. There's not a lot that is technical about this image, but, at least the feeling is clearly there. I like the subtle hint of color, it makes the image more appealing.. however, I don't think it adds to the theme itself.. infact, it kinda takes away from the emotional depth. There's a quote that I'm quite fond of- " when you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes, but when you photograph people in black and white, you photograph their souls". There would be more emotion visable in her face I think without the splash of color. Still, great job on both entries! It's a shame there weren't more this week. Edited January 10, 2012 by Appie

And also you could have a picture or idea about their story just by looking at it. But still, good job for both entries!

I can understand and feel the emotion when I look into your signature. The colors are subtle, at least the colors are kept are bare minimal or else the emotion would be lost. The girl tearing up, sums up the emotion of being hurt. I like the font, suits for signature especially the background. On an unrelated matter, what made me giggled when I see this signature is when I read the emotion. It says, " Hurt by sookyay " . Did you make her cry? Hehehe, :P
