Boogieman Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) original suggestion: All the elite armor sets come with the same bonuses; AGI (cloak is AGI/LUK) It makes sense (or is at least somewhat handy) on most classes, but for a magic user it's pretty uselss unless you're always in a melee/flee type build. I know this has been suggested before but I can't see any reason for it not to be considered ... and just because the Forsaken Knight armor sets are out is not a suitable reason to overlook this minor flaw. My suggestion would be to tweak the elite sets to match their respective classes, but mainly the INT reliant classes. HW/Prof/HP(idk if champ should make this list or not, you decide) *Replace the AGI bonuses with INT (and for the cloak, replace the LUK with DEX) ^ It seems more sensible than AGI to me. I considered writing up all classes but since AGI is a base resource for many of them so I'm leaving that part out. Don't just say no because the Elite sets are now easily replacable, and will soon just be a distant memory. secondary suggestion: Currently the Elite Shoes and Cloak are not sellable. Since the set is basically useless, obsolete and easily surpassable, can we make the shoes and cloak sellable to NPC's and increase the sell rate of the elite armor/shoes/cloak/shield to something more respectable than 24k zeny. Mint Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 I would agree if it was Str and Luck on the armor sets at the moment, that it should be Int + Dex. But it's not. Agi is also useful for Magic classes because Aspd reduces cast delay. Luck is not as useful for Magic classes as it is for Melee I think that replacing it with Dex will just increase the amount of Stat Points that Magic-Type classes have for Vit. Overall~ it's a no from me. :S Magic classes don't need a damage boost.
HealHard Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 Why do you think that all classes should get maximum boosts out of items? sets are desinged the way to boost some classes , because they need it. thats the the part of the server's balance. Disagree on this suggestion.
Boogieman Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) These are the class specifc elite armor sets, far inferior to the Knight and Kings sets. I think an item that is named 'Forsaken High Wizard Shoes' should be designed for a HW. Being class specific items usually means that it's bonuses are desirable for that class. If they weren't meant to be different then why are there completely different quests for completely different items instead of one redundant quest like the Forsaken Knight gears? Surely it's not solely for the weapons. I don't see a lot of people out there in the PvP zones relying on elite armor so I don't really see where the harm is. There's nowhere near the amount of bonuses from the rest of the sets. No HP mods. No resist freeze bonus. Just one flat stat and no helm. AGI is nowhere near as effective as DEX is at reducing casting time. If you're on a HR server building your casting time around AGI then you're doing something wrong. HealHard Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 you suggest it just to make suggestion? noone even uses elite sets, because knight sets are better and universal. why should GMs edit things that already become classic? pointless and useless.
Boogieman Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 are you disagreeing just to disagree? Noone uses the elite sets? By 'noone' do you mean the people that have donated($) for all their gears, been here for years, or have already farmed their way passed the elite sets? Until people reach the point where they can do the Knight quest, newcomers still have to rely on the elite sets and since the only way to gain anything from scratch on this server is farming then the extra INT would help out. What do think they'll be wearing while they're doing the Knight quest? I made the suggestion because it'd be convenient if the HW/Prof(at least) elite sets gave magic related bonuses instead of melee bonuses. It's not like I'm asking for a whole new set. All that would be needed is to change the descriptions and the script. 3 little letters here and there to make beginner life on fRO a little more bearable. It could have easily been changed in the time this thread has been open.
HealHard Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 every single newbie i see in-game is wearing knight set because it cost 10 tokens. that means that newcomer needs to farm 6k hydra cards for example and buy the set. its is sad to say, but lets face the fact that class specific sets are not massively used anymore. this suggestion is not bad, but it wont help anyone. so i think that GMs should not waste their time buffing or nerfing elite stuff. Let them work on xmas update please.
Boogieman Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) I want argue further about what they'll be wearing while farming those 6k hydra, and about how they'll farm those hydra with the AFK creator that camps the hot spots for 12 hours a day, but I'll just leave it alone. Most likely this suggestion will fall into the pile with others(dating back to August) and be widely ignored by the ones that are suppose to accept/reject them. Even though there's about 5-6 decent suggestions that could be done in half a day with ease and would just be that much more they could take credit for in a future update. HealHard Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 You got no logic at all. to get the elite set you have to farm hydras anyway. and then 6k more different cards and an MVP card to get the box. i find farming hydras easier. And yes, this suggestion is just one of hundreds that gonna drop in that pile. and i just tried to explain why. its not bad, but its useless.
Boogieman Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 Maybe I should suggest making the Knight quest harder as to not make the Elite set completely obsolete. As you pointed out, 6k cards and an MVP card(which can take days if you don't have tokens) to get to elite, yet it takes barely an hour of farming to get the knight gear.
HealHard Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 the point of doing elite quest it not getting gears anymore. its to advance in storyline. so once a newcomer gets some set he can make this elite quest to get 200 bonus stat poinst first and then a bow with a weapon and to chance to make some more knightsets himself and even try to make a legendary weapon and frigg.
Boogieman Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 Editted original post .. lemme know whatcha think
