Huffle Puss Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 How can I reduce the lag. Is there some kind of turn on/off device that reduces the lag? Thanks! =3
mindsweeper Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 that is also my problem, SINCE the update, I experienced lag I don't know why... it wasn't like this before the update.. :(
Seraphine Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 The update wouldn't have caused lag problems.
Luxiana Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) I don't have any problems with lag after update, so it can't be update itself as it's been stated. Try closing programs which may cause you lag, or minimize the windows you have opened when you're ingame. If that doesn't help, try reseting your internet connection or/and restart your computer. If that doesn't help, then I'm afraid I don't know what'd be a problem. Edited September 19, 2011 by Quenyi
mindsweeper Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 I KNOW about those.. as I said, it started when the update was released, no changes has been done on my laptop to cause the lag.. that is why I thought that it has a connection on the update.. :(
Secret Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Then have you try the "Computer Upgrade" ?
mindsweeper Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 LOL don't blame my laptop! i5 CPU 2.53 ghz 3GB RAM ATI mobility radeon HD 5650 oh come on it won't lag on ragnarok.. maybe it's on my internet connection but it never happened before so I'm a little bit confused..
Decode Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Yeah we can't blame your laptop it's pretty similar to mine and as far as I know I'm not lagging. But we could put the blame on your internet for now, try reseting your router and check your ping with the server. To check your ping open the command prompt and type "ping forsakenserver.net" and at the end it shall show you what is your ping with the server in milliseconds "ms"
Huffle Puss Posted September 24, 2011 Author Report Posted September 24, 2011 Wew. My average ping is 256
xXxJCxXx Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Ttry doing a tracert and see how many hops you get and you can see where is your bottleneck when you see the high response rate in a certain hop or do a ping -t to the server, if you get frequent request time out then you may have a problem with your ISP. I had this problem before frequent request time out and called my ISP and it was fixed. I experience less lag now but i still experience it since im far away from the server. If your connection speed is not an issue or you're not sure, try doing a test on speedtest.net and see what your download/upload speed. Also are you using your internet connection alone or are you using it with others. Other people sharing with your internet may cause you lag. Example is when your brother try to watch a video on youtube or downloads a file. You need to isolate everything so you can conclude what the problem is. And I'm pretty sure it is not the server since other people are not experiencing it. Note all the commands are done in command prompt e.g. tracert forsakenserver.net e.g. ping -t forsakenserver.net 1
Seraphine Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Wew. My average ping is 256 That's probably why your lagging that's a rather high ping. There really isn't much you can do about it,i'm assuming you live far away from the server or you wouldn't have that kind of ping. Upgrading your internet could help reduce the lag. I'm afraid their really isn't much else you can do.
Veralynn Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Honestly, I have phenomenal internet and I've been experiencing ridiculous lag spikes too. Not very often, but they never happened at all before o_o
Seraphine Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 (edited) Honestly, I have phenomenal internet and I've been experiencing ridiculous lag spikes too. Downloading files while playing fRo can cause problems , at any rate the best thing you could do is restart your modem/router clean your computer and make sure nothings slowing down your connection and make sure no ones Ddosing you either(which can happen) What does "Ddos" mean? Distributed denial of service Edited October 7, 2011 by Seraphine

Seraphine Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 (edited) Wew. My average ping is 256 Well like i said that's a pretty high ping and that's probably why your experiencing lag. I don't believe you can reduce this "lag" unless you upgrade your internet. I'm sorry but I don't think theirs Anything we can do about it as it's not a server side problem.
