supream Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 dont suggest any more reductions in damage anymore. dont need keryie on a helm, and idk about what that increase of damage to demi humans would do.
nines Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Genesis doesn't like improving on old items as he's stated. So I doubt this will be taken in. Best way to make it get taken in as accepted is have all the in-between stuff done. Npc locations. Type of quest. Items needed. Strings all that etc
ecstasy19 Posted September 2, 2011 Author Report Posted September 2, 2011 still working on that, npc names, location, in between quests. this is just merely a simple draft. (;
Arif Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Really like this. need new equipment that I can farm. WIll make lots of people play this game and attract the old people to come back to farm this stuff.. Awesome suggestion.. +11111111111111111 Good job
ecstasy19 Posted September 2, 2011 Author Report Posted September 2, 2011 exactly, its good for farming activity. plus the above i posted is around 10% of the actual quest line i have in mind.
Aerynth Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 If its hard not not easy I think this could work. This definitely would spice things up in Fro, this needs a lot of planning and thinking to do. Hope this works out tho. Would really like to see how this comes out. Lets think on how to make this newbie friendly as well, so that new player like me (fairly new, hehe) and up coming players a chance of obtaining them too! Also how will this affect the economy? Err, people would OP things up, and hell they might even camp for certain items (Example right now : EOF) If we could/must find a fine line between mad ass almost impossible to farm for the old players but the items must not be too impossible for the new players to get. PS : The thought of the whole idea is really great, I bet you spend a lot of time in this, kudos for studying all that! You have my support, but only if we could make this better and player friendly!
Mint Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 I think it just makes the rich stronger to be honest. I think it's a great idea. But maybe the server's just not ready for it yet? :S
ecstasy19 Posted September 2, 2011 Author Report Posted September 2, 2011 To be honest, i admit this quest wont be easy and as not as newbie friendly. well take your time and think about it, there's gonna be a lot of items required for this quest and from my point of view, the newbies could take advantage of this and get tokens if they are willing to farm and sell it. in a way its a win win situation, the riches might prolly get the items but think about it, i bet they're not gonna farm all these items, i bet they'll buy from other players or ask for a farming service. Hence a lot of opportunity for new players to get more tokens. This quest i have in mind is really challenging, without motivation and the right farming skills and attitude, you wont even reach the second stage of the quest which is obtaining the boots ( Hermes' Talaria ). The people might farm for some items but when they give up they tend to sell the items they have farmed, earning tokens in the end. cause you cant always get what you want, but if you try, you get what you need. for example newbies can buy themselves a forsaken king set or a donation belts of their own. In a way, the riches kept hogging items such as forsaken king parts, but with this quest, it reduces the amount of forsaken king parts and which will lead it to a high demand. when that happens, players might donate to the server and keep the server running, also players with a lot of tokens will exchange their tokens at the forsaken king room to get the forsaken king parts. And i also think with this quest, the server's eco will rise, for example, cheap cards like moonlight flower, Orc Hero cards will rise in demand leading to increase in prices of such mvp cards and thus creating the perfect opportunity for newbies to farm them for sale.
Dudu Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) This quest is for really geared ppl, you should think on making it easier so newbies or decent gear players could do it. Imp's are not easy to get you know. Edited September 2, 2011 by Dudu
Veggie&Mac Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) This quest is for really geared ppl, you should think on making it easier so newbies or decent gear players could do it. Imp's are not easy to get you know. Like dudito says! I think is a great idea, but it help only a few guys and not all the server!!! if you make it for all and delete the reducts ( creators will be called Fcpers coz of it :( ) ill agree 100% Dani♥ Edited September 2, 2011 by Veggie&Mac
ecstasy19 Posted September 3, 2011 Author Report Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) well thats the thing, this quest is for geared people, newbies can achieve this quest only after when they have geared up or else it would be unfair to those people who worked hard and spent months or years to farm and spend a lot of money to donate for their gears cause newbies can easily catch up to them. if thats not the case, whats the use of donation or farming at all? for the helm of randgris, a gvh would do instead of imps if you wanna save cost. its your choice to pick the colours. if you want a coloured helm, then you'll have to sacrifice a coloured imp for it. im still thinking about what to put to replace the reducts thou. lots of QQ's about it. will rework on the stats as soon as i finish the storyline. peace. supream Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 if you look at his quest it is in no way shape or form to help new players cause you need to have the king set to be able to do it.
ecstasy19 Posted September 3, 2011 Author Report Posted September 3, 2011 (edited) well thats just plain negative thinking, thinking inside the box or not thinking at all mike. i'll bet only a few players are willing to farm for all the items and the others will just broadcast to buy the items from other players, for example right now, EOF, Pyroxene, Golden Anvil, Dragoon Wizard card and Dragoon Warlord card. with this quest, it creates an opportunity for new players. if they use their minds right, they can use this opportunity to earn tokens by farming, killing mvps for the cards since mvps are easy to kill nowadays instead of farming seeds and yggs all day long which is boring (cause i've been there) or fooling around in fcity and asks for zenny or tokens or items from everyone. And then with the tokens earned from selling the farmed items will get them their forsaken king set. dreams don't just come true instantly. you gotta work hard to get it, or if you're rich enough, you can just donate and keep the server running. peace. Bishop Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 I disagree with this suggestion. First of all I do not think we need to create an entire better gearset again. I mean where will this end ? we already have several sets and newer players will build up getting one set after another. This additional step will once again create an even bigger gap between the geared and ungeared players. Aside from that if we keep on buffing this way balance issues will emerge once again very quickly. Saying the farming oppertunities will make up for it for the newer people is not right. I mean, the newer people didn't take quite an advantage out of friggs quest or any other big quest for that matter. Also, you say the low-demand mvp cards would rise in price and would become an easy way for newer players to make money with. I'll have to disagree with that as well. Cause only newer players are the ones hunting those 'easier' cards right now (not even every hour). Once they will be needed for quests not only the new people would hunt them. But the older players would as well. This way not only the demand would rise, but the supply as well. Keeping the cards value pretty much even. Cards value would stay (pretty much) the same but the competition in getting the card by farming would rise.
Sorrow Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 The suggestion gets my trademark flyingkick of NOOOOOOOOOO-ness just for the helm alone. i'm all in for creativety and please keep at it! i'm quite sure you can create something awesome! ...But take these ridiculously overpowered items out of my face! :D
Xtopher Posted September 3, 2011 Report Posted September 3, 2011 I like the idea. DO NOT LIKE HELMET! Auto dispel on a 2 slot helmet? Epic annoying assassins GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wastin my verters.
ecstasy19 Posted September 3, 2011 Author Report Posted September 3, 2011 well, its still a draft idea thou. so no worries about the helm. will think of something even better to put as the stats. (;
xXxJCxXx Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 GJ! More HP/SP Modifiers and other buffs but no more reduction/additional damage.
Aerynth Posted September 6, 2011 Report Posted September 6, 2011 GJ! More HP/SP Modifiers and other buffs but no more reduction/additional damage. You have a point there, :) Kinda think of it, if its just HP/SP modifiers and other buffs, with no reduction/additional damage, this might and could work. Cause the gap between Non-Donation Geared players and Donation Geared players would still be the same as it is right now, the only differences is, that it adds more HP/SP and other buffs not Reducts/Dmg.
ecstasy19 Posted September 12, 2011 Author Report Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) *Cloak and Helm stats remade* so sorry bout the slow update. been busy with college lately. will update as soon as i get a reply from the senior gm's about this quest. Edited September 12, 2011 by ecstasy19
Halion Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 why improve newbs if we can improve olds!
HealHard Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 Lets say i have about 20 fsets. how much time do you think i should waste upgrading gears? my answer is - zero. its good and balanced as it is. and dont think farming is what people love to do in FRO lolz.
