Soul Linkers Are Underppowered

so you have made every balenced in pvp.but soul linkerrs are so underpowered a part of me died when i bought that weapon and tried it maybe you can boost its stavecrusher damage or something idk.but as is they still suck.

Unless we allow them to use 'es' type skills against other players, I'm not sure they will ever stand much of a chance in PvP. That being said, I'm open to hearing ways of potentially helping the class.

Sadly they're stuck being a support type class much like priest. They're severely limited offensively but in a team fight a good soul linker is highly helpful.

Every server I've seen allow them use the es skills in pvp has ended up making they waaaay OP. I don't think it would be an exception here. Plus, wouldn't that be some form of source edit?

Just because things are source edits doesn't mean we won't do them, just most of people's suggestions involving it aren't worth the risks. We wouldn't do this for Soul Linkers, and in no way did I mean to imply we would in my post. I meant other ways of helping the class.

Increasing there magic attack could be a start, and maybe buffing there hp by some as well on the Soul Linker Valkyrie Weapon of course.

soul linkers were never made to be a pvp class. they were strictly made to be player vs monster and support. this is the way ro made it.

^ Thats basically it. Dont make a PvM class Pvp, you guys tried but it wasnt enough, any other buff to the class it will result OP, so leave it as it is. Concentrate on buffin his other BFF ( TK ) Thats the one that needs a hand and its a PvP class.

Guys, you forget the fact that FRO is a PvP/PK server of high rate and highly customizable with little to none worth in PvM. RO made GTB to be a super freaking rare card(on kRO there's 4 of them in circulation 3 belong to the same guy, iRO and bRO banned it for ebing too powerful/cheap), in here it is a bread & butter. As the server changes what RO was created to be originally, so needs to do all the classes to fit the new perspective, otherwise they get left behind in the evolutionary cicle...lol

That being said, i wouldn't agree to have all ES skills being usable on players, Eska would be a incredibly crippling debuff and Eske would be an overpowered buff, so these two shouldn't be allowedd. Eswoo would be a funny skill to use and very usefull on woe giving SLs more utility there. Estin, Estun and Esma would be a great thing for SLs to be able to use on people tho, and would never be too OP because there's always GTB. My opinion on the skills, in the extremely remote and basicly nonexistent hypothesis on the modification to the skills.

But i believe if soul linkers had more HP and the ability to use one AoE spell too along with the bolts, like Storm Gust, they would be able to be less agressive-more supportive wizzards, giving them some utility in the long run.

The Staff for Soul Linkers could give a 100% reduction on cast time, this way they could use Kaizel with no cast, i believe Kaizel is a skill that makes Soul Linkers loved; plus no need of DEX in the build = more vit, there the HP bonus comes naturally.

i think +HP would be the best improvement though.

Exactly as Mike said. Soul Linker was not meant to be pvp class. So i dont think they need any reboost right now or would be okay if the tao gives more hp increase on Sl I guess?

I pretty much agree with Sorrow, aside from the esma skill. As much as I would love to use that in PvP it would just 1 hit pretty much everyone and it's insanely spammable. I dont think enabling those skills would be a good idea even though we have gtb.

However I do love the idea of giving the SL staff the 100% reduction on cast time. This way they could focus on their survivability and damage output more than using 3/4 of their gears to get the 100% reduction on cast time. I'm not sure about the AoE skill either. I think Soul linkers would become an huge annoyance if you gave them a skill like stormgust. Stormgust -> jump -> and repeat would probably annoy a lot of people. Heavens drive would be a smaller area and would still do the trick in my opinion.

However giving them the 100% reduction on cast time wont help them in any PvP events due to the kaizel skill being disabled. So aside from the cast time reduction we would need a buff that could help them within these events as well. Buffs such as an HP boost.

This is for general discussion about the class and improving them. You can suggest other changes to items here, e.g. Tao Gunka card/elite weapons, etc., but Valkyrie weapons belong in that topic and won't be looked at/considered unless they are posted there.

Can't they do that anyway? :o I know they used to be able to...

& Maybe they should just get more dex (On their valk weapon) so that their stat points can be used on vit or whatever for survivability..

Soul Linkers would need a solid percentage HP buff to increase their survivability. 40 extra points in their VIT isn't going to increase their HP significantly to the point where they can become a good PVP class.

There's currently no room for VIT to get a decent HP to withstand damage. You virtually go double OLs and Kaizel when you die.

+1 an Increased % of HP on their Highness staff would be better to increase the survivability of Sl's. Would also be useful as Soul Linker's arent allowed to use Kaizel in LMS.

Im agree with the Boost too, and yea Mint they can do that but, the MATK wont be good enoough to kill someone, you would be doing around 800-900's bolts.

Lol Mint, in order to make the 100% Insta Cast stuff, you need to sacrifice ur 2 accesory slots, so that means no int belts lol

Edu buddy, that might be the case on for_fild01, but if you want, you can make full-for_fild-annoying soul linker like this naturally. But WoE castles kicks you out even if you're on kaizel and furthermore, the skill cannot be cast inside the castles, Kaizel is naturally forbidden on every pvp related event, and a soul linker doing this on PvP arena is also void because of the feeding. Resume; its just a 4fun thingy, wouldn't have that much practical usage.

@Bishop; agreed Heaven's Drive sounds better as an AoE for them, but then again maybe along with a 30% damage bonus to it?

@Veracity; let us just discuss things on this separate thread, if the ideas for the weapon seen to be liked, it should be posted on the Valkyrie weapon thread, this way, it becomes more organized. :3
