Universal Buffer

My comment was not about the widening gap between players being rich and poor. Hell, I want it to be known that I have no problem with the gap - everyone knows I've donated a couple grand here, and all my items were bought from the token shop, cards and forsaken equipment included. If I'm caught arguing FOR equality, then I must be drunk.

I understood what you said about the damage output with buffs vs. the amount of HP there is currently and was agreeing with it. When I was discussing the gap between the rich and poor, it was something else entirely, I realize you weren't talking about that. I should have been more clear though that they were two separate thoughts.

If the advantage always stays with the guilds that already HAVE the advantage [so-to-speak] we're never going to shorten the gap between new competition (new players) and veterans, and you're only going to see the attrition rate of the server go up.

If we make the buffs available to all of the players who are rich/have enough tokens to afford this, it's just making it worse for those who can't afford it. Instead of a handful of people having it, every geared player will have it. It wouldn't be limited to a 2 week period either, it'd be for a potentially unlimited amount of time. Some people have more than enough tokens to afford to have those buffs for months on end. There are players that aren't that new to the server, but don't have the means to donate and don't have rich friends to give them free items/tokens. They'd have to farm a lot to be able to afford the buffs continuously, assuming they've already managed to save up enough for good gears (which would take quite a lot of work). Guilds pooling resources so everyone in them could afford the buffs for WoE is a good idea and you raise a good point about that, but I'm still not sold on the idea. I'm by no means opposed to it and think it could work well, I'm just worried about it making the gap worse for those who can't find guilds with people that can afford it, those who don't have enough tokens to continuously afford it, etc.

I know what you're saying Kittie. My response is that my suggestion wont widen any gaps. Those gaps already exist because the buffer is already in the game. People already have the buffs therefore the gap between damage and hp already exist. I just want to make it available for everyone if they wish to spend the tokens.

Yes, the gap already exists, but as she pointed out "The only reason it works with guild hideouts is because guilds don't invite everyone - only their friends, and everyone else is an enemy. Not everyone is running around doing high amounts of damage to each other." Giving it everyone who has tokens at once and with no time limits widens that gap.

So you would prefer to keep it elitist? Just for a specific few to have? What do you mean it "works"? You mean its more okay for an elite group to have it rather than making it universal? How does it "work" more for a specific group to widen the damage to hp gap than everyone having the opportunity?

I'm sure I don't have to tell you of all people this Veracity but there is no way to please everyone.

i dont like buffs at all really. this would probably increase the amount of people selling items but might decrease the amount of people buying things cause of them wanting to keep their tokens for the buffer. for the idea that this will keep the new players down and stuff has no relevance. most of not all games will be like that. the official server already has third classes, it would take 1000x as long to become up to par with players there then here, other games are the same way. giving incentive on players to want to level up and get the things older players have makes them want to play more. if everything was easy to get then there would be no economy. if everything is to hard no one would play. this would make it no harder to get things then it already is. any game i play i wouldnt go to pvp starting off just playing for a week or so, i would definitely get my ass handed to me. i dont see alot of players stopping people from farming or anything so thats not a problem.

I'm just saying this, if buffer will be available to everyone. Won't having GH be completely obsolete? I mean disguise and having a base and such is not really a big deal, people bid on GH, mainly for their buff. I agree with Chris with his idea and I'm actually supporting it! I'm just pin pointing another point here. All in all, I like the suggestion, hope to see it implemented ingame! :D +1

I think it should be changed. If you read I suggest making the buffs different. Guild buffs should still be a bit strong and GH should be a GvG token system, not an auction. More bases for more guild could be made.
