NikkiLee69666 Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 MvP - Kill an MvP, and you'll get, lets say ."Sign of Golden Thief Bug". collect 50 of them and you get something. Different MvPs would give different items. What do you guys think? It's a random thought. That sounds pretty interesting, but what kind of item are you referring to when you collect 50 "Signs?" Some sort of equipment, consumable items, etc?
Veracity Posted August 9, 2011 Author Report Posted August 9, 2011 I really like that idea and it'd work nicely with some future updates we're planning. If you guys could flesh out what the rewards for those MvP items would be, that'd be super helpful. I also think quests that require WoE drops would be nice, too.

I also think quests that require WoE drops would be nice, too.I'm not so sure about quests that require WoE drops. I've played in a SHR server with that before and the cost of those items were ridiculously high. It would be really hard for those without a good guild or good equips to have any attempt at the quests. If you're talking about the items such as "Emblem of the Sun God; Item ID# 7086" then if you could make them accessible in small quantities from either other quests or MvP drops, then it would be a better idea for those without a successful guild.

I was just thinking like a quest for a headgear, nothing too fancy. Just to actually have them be used for something... it was just an idea though. We could add other methods of obtaining them too perhaps. I'd really like to hear more people's ideas on new things we could add to the server that they would like.
ramonjordan Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 Expand on the old quest like the forsaken king and the nd belt npc's make that map useful it seems like everyone forgot about that whole chain quest. Link it up to the frog hats and friggs shield quest make it so you need to complete all the quest's to start ta new super hard quest! Or something like that lol

Link it up to the frog hats and friggs shield quest make it so you need to complete all the quest's to start ta new super hard quest! Or something like that lolI'm not saying it's a bad idea to do that, but to be honest, it would be obnoxious as hell considering people have already done the Friggs Quest and many other without having to do all the chain quests. It's similar to a suggestion about reducing the Vote Coin cost of the Scarfs. Too many people have already payed 60 Vote Tokens to buy the Scarf so it can't be reduced. Get it? :D
ramonjordan Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 No i do not get it lol, i think you misunderstood to start the quest you need to have done all the quest prior to the new one i proposed. If you had done already the friggs quest then that means you just need to finish the others its not like as you said reducing the cost of the scarf which idk how relates to my suggestion. I was thinking of a quest to unlock a new accessory that takes up both slots. Something that gives like +10 Agi + 10 Pd +5% hp and 10% chance of casting Autoguard or maybe Kyrie Eleison or something along those lines. Maybe class specific idk just throwing out my ideas as i said before im not really creative lol.
rasko Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Make MVP's in Endless Tower drop their cards at like a 3-5% chance. Possibly add a quest line that requires an item from Naght Sieger. Lower donation prices? I plan on donating next week already for some mvp cards, but all the decent gear is far out of an average player's price range. 30$ is kind of ridiculous in my opinion. Possibly add statted headgears/accessories or custom cards that give you the appearance of another class. Some of the classes look relatively plain, even with 3rd job sprites. This would be an interesting addition and would make pvp more competitive. Edited August 12, 2011 by rasko
Halion Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 bring back mvps's buffs so people can now find mvps, because they just stopped appearing, as for me i can't even find amon ra because its already dead q_q
Schwalkzvad Beowulve Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Headgears from the NPC? Headgear quest is a very good solution instead of equipments. Lower price, it's not really 'necessary' and just make something that looks very good but does not give that 'much' bonus so that it will not be imba.

To my knowledge lowering donation prices isn't an option due to the fact that people have already donated/bought those Items/Tokens in game, that would probably mess with the economy too.Although a Senior Game Master or higher would have to clarify that most likely. Schwalkzvad Beowulve Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Slot Enchanter. This won't be OP.

Veracity Posted August 22, 2011 Author Report Posted August 22, 2011 Suggestion: Implement the accepted suggestions already cause its taking a bit too long, It's easy to complain but it is not easy to actually do the work. There are hundreds of accepted suggestions and some are not as important as others, so obviously only certain ones will be prioritized. We're doing our best, but there's been quite a few road bumps lately and in terms of developers, we're understaffed. If you want things done more quickly, I suggest learning something useful instead of complaining. Why not learn some basic code? There's plenty of guides on eA. If you're not willing to help or contribute, then you have no right to complain... just remember that. (This applies to everyone, not just you, too.) We are however working on implementing the accepted suggestions, it just takes awhile since there are so many and there are only 2-3 of us that can do the work. (:
Xtopher Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or not but more quests like friggs would be great. I understand there's a great deal of work that has to go into it though.

I understand there's a great deal of work that has to go into it though. We're planning on it! We are going to do a lot more challenging and large-scale quests, including ones for the storyline, in the future. Frigg's is part of something much bigger.
Sensation Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 One of the problems of implementing the suggestions is the specification of the suggestion. People want 'something' new, somewhere in the RO world, for a certain amount of quest items (this ain't even always added either). It would be so much more helpful if people would define their suggestions in SMART goals, as good as possible, the time specification is purely idealistic and most of the time not even realistic for us to adapt to. Nines sometimes does this already and makes it easier for the development team to complete the suggestion into an implementation, I used him as an example so that other players can see how we prefer how it is done. As for other people outside the staff coding, it's hard, they somewhat have a copy of fRO in their hands and there are enough issues with servers duplicating each others hard work in almost perfect details already. So basically, trust issues apply here. Another reason is that the code has to be tested, adapted to the communities wishes and of course be fixed if there are any bugs in there before launching the new quest/event/item release. - My idea about the damage ladder wings, it's fine if you are able to do and receive more damage, if certain other damage reduction items aren't usable any more (shields, cards, combinations of the two, hats etc.), possibly add a movement/casting speed reduction in it. - MvP events will always be dominated by either 'rich' players or the best MvPing class, resulting in people complaining about it being unfair and certain people/guilds gaining a monopoly position. Though a possible solution(not entirely sure if it's possible), is forcing people to be in a party for the selected area, have loot options being on even share, so that everyone has a chance on obtaining the token. - About the vanity hat items, when I read about it I was thinking about the solar god helmet. The way that item is build is quite nice and that idea can be expanded into something more fun/bigger/harder. A very nice good looking super awesome hat (redundancy ftw?) requires both MvP, chain quest and WoE drops/items to be completed. But as to not to make it completely impossible for new players, add the drops to a few monsters with a 0,01/0,001 drop rate. This way everyone is able to get it, though you (and possibly your guild) needs to do effort to complete this vanity item. - About reducing the cost of vote items will always be a discussion, but I personally think that older and less used items are more of a collection item to wear than to actually use in the current gaming content. For those items I could understand and accept a decrease in cost as they are virtually not being bought that much any more. This way people get those items slightly cheaper, people keep voting and there will be a chance more players join and the server grows & stuff? Plus new players won't have to farm/wait for an extended amount of time to get competitive, gear wise, with the old(er) players. - Endless tower reward, see the vanity item suggestion above, increase the drop rate of the items required to like 1-2% and perhaps a chance to obtain consumables (seeds, berries, potions) to compensate for getting all the way up there and having used so much. - The slot enchanted was abused before and that is why it has been removed, so yes it can be 'OP'. Fixing it would require spending a decent amount of time on it, time which could be used to implement/fix other suggestions. - Last but not least, rescue Bob is my personal event, the only one that I kept personal besides the other events that are released already. I prefer to keep it that way to be reminded by the community. For more details, visit my thought train inside my head ;p So yea, this is my perception of the things mentioned in here. 2
Sorrow Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 How to keep the server interesting...hnnn...oh yeah! Nerf GTB! :D Well seriously...its been very long since the last 'nerf gtb' pool was made, how about making another?
Sensation Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 There isn't an issue in nerfing it, but I'm not the one you'll need to convince. 1
Veracity Posted October 3, 2011 Author Report Posted October 3, 2011 I'm going to move this to accepted since we'll take everyone's suggestions here into consideration in future updates. Thank you to those who contributed thoughtful ideas and are trying to actively better the server for everyone! Concerning GTB, I recommend making a new topic for that.
