Suggestions To Help New Players, Part 2

This came up in another topic and also in discussion between the GMs and I wanted to open this up to the community as a whole. One of our primary goals is to improve the game for new players and make it easier for them to start out here. We got some really great suggestions from everyone last time (many of which were implemented), so we would love to hear more! Everyone's feedback is greatly appreciated on this issue. (:

Note: any suggestions for improving the server/keeping it interesting for older/more experienced players should go here.

Ideas so far:

• Decrease requirements for the Elite Quest
• Add new set of gear/weapons in between Forsaken Elite and King equipment
• Remove rental weapons and make elite weapons have their effects

Reduce the ability difference between new players and existing players. It will take new players a very long time to obtain tokens, especially the market for MvP cards is now almost gone. They should be provided with a guide telling them to do an elite quest, and then guide them to do the elite equipments. + the requierments of the elite equipments can also be decreased so they will not feel overwhelmed by the amount. The other thing that the server can do is that they can create a new quest that will enable to transform the elite equipments into something that is in between of the Forsaken King's Set and the Elite Equipments set. That way, the Forsaken King's Set is not obtainable through any quest.Therefore, if the new players are more powerful, the PvP and WoE itself will be more challenging even for the current player.

Moved your post to the topic about helping new players, since I feel this is more relevant. I think those are good ideas, we already were discussing making the elite quest easier, as well as introducing a set in between the Elite set and the Forsaken King set. The server has changed a lot since the Elite quest was introduced and in my opinion it needs to be upgraded to stay relevant with all of the new items, etc.

Remove the renter npc and turn the renter npc items into the elite weapons.

Will be a major upgrade for all the noobies and theirs no big problem with it =.=

Yeah, we were thinking of doing that since the Valkyrie weapons made the rental weapons essentially useless to those with coupons, and to my knowledge, hardly anyone uses them anymore. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) It'd be better to make them available to newer players and would help even out the playing field more.

Voter Bundle.

Have a box that also pops up when you make a first char that says if you vote for your first vote token on that account you get a gift box. Could include some stuff.....As I said in other topic im going to just put ideas out. You guys think of the items and stuff.

This is a good way so for when noobies join the server they don't know you don't have to vote properly still to get the token. So we could exploit some fresh votes out of them this way.

Parties off in Pvp no more of the "whoever has more pally's in pvp at once wins"

i've already seen this abused too much one pally dies another devo's in its place with full yggs and it keeps rotating.

or something to stop the excessive devotion abuse.

Another suggestion have 2 seperate ladder nd and donation and let nd pvp ladder prizes give out more tokens or whatever it is these days then donation to give new players a real edge over full donation. Put some strategy back into nd pvp you know not just full fset + Fsoldier. Bring back the Sheep hats!!!

Im disagree on adding new weapons between the elite and the king ( valk ) cuz elite weapons are cheap and good enough for noobies to get them, the most expensive one is like uhhh 30? and any newbie with the wanderer mvp set or the pvp set, the quest ruck and aura, can farm enough to get them.

What i do agree is on the Elite quest, it needs to get nerfed!

I would have to disagree with you on not upping the Forsaken Elite Weapons. At the rate that fRO is advancing, it's making it hard for those who don't have money to spend on donating to do anything in pvp. I know this for certain because I AM a newbie and the only time i'm able to kill anyone is when they just made the character or they have no good equipment. I have a half equipped Gunslinger with F-Helmet, ZOD, and Santa Poring RS, and still fail epicly in PvP because I still take more than 20k damage per hit. So I agree with the fact that there should be Weapons and Armor somewhere in the middle of Forsaken Elite and Forsaken King gears. Even if it means doing another long item farming quest to obtain them. Maybe make it to where you have to become an Elite, get the F-Elite set, then upgrade it into say.. "Forsaken Master Set?"

Yes, and possibly give an option on whether you would prefer the Bow, or the Swords/Daggers for Stalker and If you would prefer a Spear or Sword for Knight/Pally. Pretty much, give an option of different weapons for each class in case they wont be using the default weapon given from the set.

Like me <3 Although my sister is useful for borrowing her gear, I cannot do that all the time lol. I would really enjoy to see some better equipment to be able to quest for rather than having to farm for 12 hours just to get 90 tokens to get 1 piece of the forsaken king set. xD
