Theme: Ragnarok Online

Welcome to the voting thread of the 41st SOTW!
When voting in the SOTW, we will be expecting you to fully understand the rules.
Don't know the rules? Click Here.
Have you seen the sources? If not, Click Here!
______________________________________________________

Rules that the voter must understand:
*Voters must have at least a post count of 10 in order to vote.
*Contestants are not allowed to vote for themselves, but are now allowed to vote in the SOTW.
*Judges' signature grades will be doubled (e.g., if a judge gives 10, it would count as 20).
*Non-judge points will count for full credit.
*Each voter must fill out at least one rubric for the entry of their choice.
*Each entry must have at least 2-3 GOOD sentences in addition to the rubric.
*Votes will be counted on Tuesday. Signatures will be based on a point-basis.
______________________________________________________

Voting Rubric:

Rate each of the following categories from 1 to 5, with 5 being 'excellent' and 1 being 'ok/decent'...

*Creativity - how creative the signature is.
*Technical - how challenging the attempted idea.
*Execution- how the idea is put together and how successful it is.
*Aesthetic- how visually pleasing the signature is, regardless of how complex it may be.

Include the total points.

Must include 2-3 sentences discussing the over-all reason why you're casting a vote for the signature.
Try to think in terms of the categories above, but you're free to discuss other elements as well.
(Note: you only have to do this once.)

* This system is just a trial, it may be changed for the next voting period. This is hopefully to prevent a 'popularity' contest by making it so
it's not about how many votes are received, but by the total points earned in different technical categories.

Great job to everyone who participated and good luck!! Everyone, please vote fairly! *

*If I suspect anyone of bribing people to vote for them, etc.
and they do not provide legitimate reasons for their vote, it will not be counted.

O.o are we allowed to vote for all of them or only a limited number of them?

Posted

for now just one, i think. since if people were allowed to vote for more than one entry, and not everyone did, it could mess it up. so it would either have to be grade all of them, or just 1. if people would rather vote for all of them we can change it but we'll see how this goes.

I like Meka's because it's the most aesthetically pleasing to me. I vote for Meka!

you have to fill out the rubric and provide 2-3 sentences with legitimate reason why you're voting for it... and saying it's aesthetically pleasing doesn't count. you'd have to explain why.

I really like how he/she/it/thing/person decided to use a book marker for a signature. Its out of the normal and the string looks pretty good, and the hand on the top part looks like its really grabbing the edge.

Things I didn't like about it. Its a tutorial made sig, not that hard to do (the placement was nice though) and the bottom part where it says venemous has to much white in the area. Could have put a cool c4d looking font in the area or an emblem of some sort to make it not so plain down there.

Jay. You could have made the poring a little smaller so the drop shadow doesn't show a cut off on the sig. If it was in just plain space woulda been really good. Nice idea though Jay. Going to have to try now if your gonna join in lol

I don't think mine counts because I have under 10 posts, but I thought I'd share anyways:

This one just made me laugh! Poring is the quintessential Ragnarok monster, very amusing to see it out of the normal :3 face. Technical challenge seemed minimal, but that doesn't matter when the execution is effective!

My vote goes to #6, Terroryst.

I really like how he made the Poring filled with memories of Forsaken Ragnarok Online. Back when Destiny, Scientology, and other guilds that had existed. Can't Really remember the name of the other guild I see there but his signature helped me remember the past of our server and our WoE back in that time. The signature is well done and very creative. Very much related to the theme of Ragnarok and our server. I miss them old days. Terroryst, you have my vote. Thank you for bringing back the past that I have forgotten. I love it!

I chose Meka's design for several reasons. It's a very clean and well thought out design. The color choice and use of black and white really draws your attention to the character making it the main focus. The font choice and placement is not over-done or distracting, and compliments the theme of the bookmark. It's certainly a creative idea to use the layout of a bookmark instead of simply a rectangular image. My only thing is I wish it said more about the game of Ragnarok instead of simply displaying a single class in the game. Overall, it's a really nice clean design that is not too over the top or too simple.

I don't exactly know how to put my explanation of why I like her signature in words. I really like her idea of using the render in a bookmark. The colors are not

exaggerated and blend together really well, overall giving it a soft touch. The brush work is really good too. Also, the string at the end is a good touch.

I gotta go with [ 7 ] Meka Meka.

I like this sig a lot actually. The look of it is simple, but it has enough touch to it in that it is appealing. The purple theme of it gives me the poison feeling of the SinX class that is portrayed in the sig. I also like that there are multiple hues of the purple; the eyes, background, her scarf, the purple splash, and the string and circles. It actually looks like a bookmark to me because the text fits well, although the fading shadow doesn't quite sit well with me. Well done, Meka.
