Xtopher Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 So I've noticed this but I never really brought it up and I haven't seen it brought up before: Why can't we post in the Farewell threads? When people quit they post and say goodbye but players aren't allowed to tell them goodbye. I find this very weird and I as well as others (I would imagine) would like to be able to tell people farewell when they decide to leave. I could understand if posts asking for items were deleted but not being able to reply to threads at all seems really weird to me. I'm suggesting it be changed so that we can post in the threads made at this part of the forum.
Hannah Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 First time I read a farewell topic, I was going to post a reply post but then it said I couldn't. I thought the topic was closed or something and I thought it weird that no one posted anything to the good bye topics. Wasn't just me. -_- I agree with this suggestion. :)
Cirrus Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 They were re-enabled some time ago, but people were just causing drama in farewell threads and it wasn't worth it so they took replying off again.

Ya your right. They post a farewell message saying they are gonna quit. And lot of players would reply saying 'Dont go :(' In the end he/she would say since lot of players force me not go i ll stay. Its just to get attention. I have also noticed some aspect lately.Since farewell reply is disabled, some players broadcast saying they are gonna quit. You can see many players surrounding him/her.But they arent really gonna quit or anything. Its just to show off and get attention from lot of players.
Phenomenon Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 I disagree with re-enabling posting on farewell topics. If people want to talk to them, they can do it privately via PM. Farewell topics can lead to flaming and unnecessary posts, as most people quit on impulse and change there mind an hour later.
Veracity Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) Yeah not to mention a lot of people just make farewell posts to get attention/cause drama and then they're back within weeks/months. As Cirrus already said, that's why they were removed and I completely agree with this decision. Edited August 21, 2010 by Veracity
Sorrow Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 A farewell that stands alone and vanishes into the darkness...so sad... Note to self; don't use ferewell topics as i didn't use the introduction anyways xD Just personal opinion but...i don't think a section of a forum(that isn't a pinned rule book or important announcements from the forum managers) in which members can't post, is even the slightest bit useful/important at all...but that's just me... On the other hand, i didn't even know you couldn't post there...not a section of the forums i visit often at all... Even though most people don't seem to like the suggestion, i'm inclined to agree with it because people saying "you can't do that here" is usually enough to make me want to do it x3 Besides people wanting attention don't bother me at all, but maybe one day...i'd like to type a last sentence to a friend quitting...you never know.
Veracity Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 (edited) There are other ways to, you can always PM then or leave them a comment. If you were really good friends with them you would also probably have their MSN/AIM/whatever so you could always say bye that way. :) Edited August 21, 2010 by Veracity
Xtopher Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Well if you suspect people are just doing it to get attention and the topics aren't legitimate why have the section at all? I don't see the point.
Veracity Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 So people know that the person is leaving? I don't know. It wasn't my decision to put it there, but I do know that posting abilities were removed to prevent drama.

I don't see the point. Its to let the players know that he/she is quitting ,its simple as that.Like veracity said,if they are truely your friends, they would contact you by any means possible. The forum already have dramas regarding server issues[no offence].Adding a reply to the farewell section would just make it worse.

Veracity Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Replies in farewell threads were removed due to drama and this won't be re-enabled as we've tried doing so before and it didn't work. We may remove the section all together, but for now it will stay as it is. As some others have already said, you can message the person privately to say your goodbyes (which I find to be a more suiting place to say them anyways). Thank you for your suggestion, though! - Rejected -
