maxlittle007 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Long back in forsaken ro the thanatos card drop rate was 10%.I heard few old players say that they took advantage of that glitch to get thanatos cards.Only later on it was changed to 0.1%.So basically the Thanatos Cards revolving around the economy now are those cards when they got it while it was 10%.Probably no one was able to get a thanatos card when its 0.1% now. Is it fair like that?If its 0.1% its gotta be like that to everyone.The existing thanatos cards should be wiped out ,or the drop rate should be made 10%. Wiping out those exisiting Thanatos cards woudnt be a good thing to do. So i suggest the GMs to make the drop card rate to 10% to make it fair enough for all the players.

I don't agree with wiping anything. That is a sure fire way to get people to leave a private server. I do agree that it is unfair that older players/friends of older players had an advantage in this area... 10% to .01% is a pretty big nerf... I also don't feel pvp would be "ruined". Everyone has skolls.... It would just subtract from some of the elitist mentality we have here if more people had the card. At this statistc, you have to kill aproximately 10000 Thanatos to get a card. As i came to know, in the beginning all MvP cards had the same drop rate, including Thana and all its cards in circulation are from that time. That my friends, isn't fair. We can't hope to acquire and maintain newplayers, if the old ones will be always one step ahead, and the new players can't aspire to reach the top level without having to expend too much money or rellying in pure damn luck XD Agreed, rise the rate plox.

You could kill Thanatos 10,000 times at 1% drop rate and still never get a card... It would be a 1% chance each time. Your previous attempts do not effect the 1% chance each drop. You could be lucky and get it the second time, or unlucky and not get it 10,000 times in a row seeing how there would be a 99% chance you wouldn't get it each time. Now if its .01% then you are 99.99% likely not to get the card.... not very encouraging for our players lol

Numinous Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 The drop rate of the card was already to high as is when it was at 10%. We had the drop rate down graded for a good reason, because the card itself was already over powered.

Originally it was .01%, and then something happened which also caused a rollback in our server, AND the Thana to be set at 10% like all the other cards. EDIT: Ice Picks also became glitched and were dropping at 10% also. Good thing we didn't have [1] back then though.

Phenomenon Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Lmao, Thanatos isn't the greatest card in existence, there are several ways to get around it, even without skoll. To the original poster, why do you believe everything you are told? Thanatos was never 10%, and when it was once, it was fixed within the hour so no Thanatos was summoned. I don't think 0.01% is too low, it still drops afterall. Slotted Ice Pick is 0.01% as well and there are several of those flying around. I have friends who have killed over 300 Thanatos trying to get this card, and there persistence should pay off, and should be more satisfying because of it's elusiveness. Hard work pays off and some items should be out of reach from lazy people/new players.

Phenomenon Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 WELL, I was a part of the staff member list when it became 10% after a server reset, but I informed Genesis and it was fixed within an hour, so that's the only time I knew of. Regardless, I stand by my statement about newer people/lazy people not having access to Thanatos Card and that it's strong potential for aid in WoE and MvPing should make it rare.

Theres a difference between being lazy and just realizing the mathematical probability here.... Is a .01% chance of a card really worth the time it takes? Of course it is a personal utility function but I'm just saying it's not very encouraging... especially because the card isn't as powerful as it used to be.

And besides if that card isnt over powered and special as few people say, why is it still 0.1%,it could be 10% like the other mvp cards? I kindly request the gms the take a fair decision on this thanatos card drop rate thing.
supream Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 mistakes shouldnt be repeated. learn from history and move on. going back to make the same mistakes will only hurt the server. changing thanatos drop rate to .1 wont hurt as much as it being changed to 10%. i can almost guarantee you it wont be changed to 10%.
