romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Alright lets start talking about all of these items Rune of power, avian wings, and soon to be zodic aura(please add more to the list if u can think of any)
Kittie Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 You can begin by explaining how these got nerfed.
romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 Ok so far when the items first come out they seam all great but when they start to be better than items from Woe, Gvg, and ladder items they lower the values of the donation items and raise the values of the older items from Woe,Gvg, and ladder (such as Rune Of Power and Lhz aura compaired with Emp aura)
Kittie Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) I wouldn't consider that a "nerf". The items were never changed (except for LHZ aura - which was never released in the first place). Consider ROP. Players thought it was better than the emperium aura, but put to the test, emperium aura was the better item. That's not a nerf, that's just player ignorance. On a side note, I traded an ROP for a green emperium aura the day it came out. OH WHAT? Anyways, it was never nerfed - the stats are still the same today as when it came out. ShowTime- Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 You can begin by explaining how these got nerfed. talking about the Avian Wings I sincerely think that the wings are ugly, they should change the shape of the wings for something more cool
romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 Well i consider "nerf" as anything lower than the orginal value of the item
Kittie Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) So then, say you bought a shirt from the store, but then you sweat too much in the pits, thus lowering the resale value of the item. Am I right to say that you nerfed your own shirt? Or say you bought a house, and remodeled the kitchen. Does that mean you "buffed" your house? I think you're using nerf in the wrong way talking about the Avian Wings I sincerely think that the wings are ugly, they should change the shape of the wings for something more cool That's not a nerf - they were like that when they came out and haven't changed sprites since. romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 @ showtime- lol I'm not really worried about the looks of the items i just think that limited items should be like collector items and raise in value as time goes on instead of always being lower than the (woe, gvg, ladder) items. I mean Avain wings where fine when they first came out (being better than Rucksacks to me) but since the update values of the newer item is lower than the older item to me i really feel that newer items should be getting better than the older items.
ShowTime- Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Ok so far when the items first come out they seam all great but when they start to be better than items from Woe, Gvg, and ladder items they lower the values of the donation items and raise the values of the older items from Woe,Gvg, and ladder (such as Rune Of Power and Lhz aura compaired with Emp aura) In my opinion they should increase the power of old items, because new items will destroy the economy of the server to maintain the equilibrium of the economy of the server they should do what they did the Raw [was 20%> 23% reflectance]
Kittie Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 i just think that limited items should be like collector items and raise in value as time goes on instead of always being lower than the (woe, gvg, ladder) items. Donation items should always be inferior than WOE, GVG, and Ladder prizes...otherwise people will just buy their way in.
romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 @Kitty- lol its kinda strange how u useing the words in that context but ware and tear isn't the same as nerfed, The values might be the same but the damage % isn't. Nah I mean if thats the case then what would be the point in donateing anymore other than looks, i mean or atleast make a Voteing counter part to all of the Woe,Ladder,GvG drops. Kinda like SgW to Fluffy Wings
Kittie Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) ... the damage done with rop on day one is the same as the damage done with rop now. the value of rop on day one was around 1k+ coupons, the value of rop now is like 200. that's not a nerf. that's just a depreciation of its value because zodiac auras are out and emp auras have also become more affordable due to the abundance of them. rop has the same effect, same one slot, same appearance. nah I mean if thats the case then what would be the point in donateing anymore other than looks, i mean or atleast make a Voteing counter part to all of the Woe,Ladder,GvG drops. Kinda like SgW to Fluffy Wings i know a lot of people donate to rip off players by overpricing the items when they first get released. not every kid who plays RO can donate so they take advantage of it. for example, white zodiac auras were selling for 2k coupons when released. that would mean $60 would translate into 6000 coupons if you were lucky. of course now everyone donated for a white zodiac aura so the price has gone down. and players without emps donated for an ROP aura when it was released since they didn't have an emperium aura. it's a stepping stone to the emp man. ShowTime- Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 In my opinion they should increase the power of old items, because new items will destroy the economy of the server to maintain the equilibrium of the economy of the server they should do what they did the Raw [was 20%> 23% reflectance] is a bit a bad person to pay for an emp 2kdq or more and now appear the zodiac aura EMPs go down drastically, will lose its value.
Cirrus Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) Limited time offer items DO become collectors items. RoP's price has doubled from when it was introduced. But it's not just that, also consumer demand. Like some select rucksacks. RoP never changed, what's the problem with it? Lighthalzen Aurora isn't even released, there's no reason that it's supposed to be +25 stats. And IMO it's better that a a server is open to change, even minor details, about items that will keep rewards that you earn (and not just buy off the easy way) of more value. I gotta agree with Kittie as well. EDIT: People still don't know how better Emperium Aurora is. If you're talking about looks... well it still is? Just less available colors. People complained about this as well during the time RoP was released. Time and time again Emp just is better in most cases. Edited June 3, 2010 by Cirrus
romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 lol i'm not talking about the Value (as in price) i'm talking about value as in effect. @showtime- I mean if that was the point then then the older the doantion item is the powerfull it gets and 10 years down the road they will become God items and no one will beable to kill them lol can u imagin Raw giveing 50% reflect lmao
Kittie Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) lol i'm not talking about the Value (as in price) i'm talking about value as in effect. this is taken from the rune of power update thread All stats + 20, Increase damage by 10% and max HP + 8%. ( 1 slot ) and is that not its effect today? i don't see the change. furthermore, i don't see the nerf. and if you're suggesting the effects should be increased to match the new zodiac auras, then you contradict yourself. who would donate for the zodiac aura when their old rop has the same effect? Edited June 3, 2010 by Kittie
Cirrus Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 And Kittie made her point. The items that are harder to get should be better. From WoE where the % drop rate is low, from GvG where only the most populated and best guilds win, wasting a week of your life to camp PvP & WoE for ladder wings. While some of those are only better in looks, some deserve not to be outshone by something you can just get in a blink of an eye, but with a small cost. It amazes me how they release stuff that seems better but is only a level or so below the effects. It's all quite nice.
Kittie Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 It amazes me how they release stuff that seems better but is only a level or so below the effects. It's all quite nice. I don't think that's their conscious intent, but it works out like that.
romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 I just don't understand why all of the donations are getting lowerd and the "earned" stuff is getting better. I mean sooner are later once u have Imp helm,Emp aura, and Rucksack/Scarf I mean what would be the point in donateing anymore if they are always gonna be better in effect that any donation that will ever come out.(atleast as far as auras/helms go) idk So when is the server gonna get new vote items >.<.
romeobunny Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 (edited) Oh and another thing why is Golden Imp helm(WoE Drop) conted as a "donation" item if its a woe drop Edited June 3, 2010 by romeobunny
Xtopher Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Well there are two sides to every story. I'm a donor but I do so because 1: I don't have the time to commit to earning a lot of the things like Emps. 2: I like the server and want it to grow. Donation items should be weaker than those earned through in-game play, but not by much seeing how in-game play is not possible without donations. It's understandable for the administration to beef up raw a bit if they introduce donation items that are very close counterparts. Also, the actual items have not been "nerfed"... I think what you mean may be that they depreciated in value. This is going to happen with supply & demand. If players with ROP start to quit and there are very few in circulation the price will rise again. If competing products (emp/zodiac) are readily available and appeal more to buyers then the demand for ROP will decrease, thus lowering the price.
Sorrow Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Based on the topic's name; Emperium Aura did get changed when Fallen Ghost Aura came out. It's already great that the server provides means for one who never donates to achieve fair chances. To me, donations, voting rewards and items obtained in-game should be eye no eye. To keep each other in check; If donations are too powerful, it gets frustrating knowing that one who has money will always have the upper hand. If in-game items are too powerful it happens what we have here; super-price inflation of items in-game.

romeobunny Posted June 5, 2010 Author Report Posted June 5, 2010 Nah i'm just saying that why can't they make something like 24 stats + hp5% as a donation item >.<. I'm still wondering why have SGW changed since Fluffy Wings came out??
