Kittie Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Lol I actually like Tony's submission this time...But I don't understand it enough to vote for it. HEHE.
Ethereal Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 I thought it was " sup ya. " I was reading it from top to bottom I guess... ? Before I thought it was USPYA...
rinrin Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Tony's sig really intrigued me lol, ya sup indeed. But my vote goes to # 5, this one is really exceptional. To use similar colors as Spiderman as the font color was a really great idea. The whole picture works well even if the background is plain. Having a white background makes you focus on the typographic image of Spiderman instead of getting lost in the background if he put more words in there.
Kittie Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I thought it was " sup ya. " I was reading it from top to bottom I guess... ? Before I thought it was USPYA... LOL. I thought it was "sup ya" too. But then Char told me it was "Ya sup"...and I was like..."Oh right...don't people in RO say that?!" I still don't know why. LOL.
Ethereal Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 Alright guys, let's stop the e-bashing becomes an e-war. By the way, the SOTW voting closes tomorrow.
Maiku Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 oh I get it nowww o.o what's the small letters say?
Encyclopedia Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I vote for number 5. I like how the words have to do with the image they try to represent. And overall the words and colors chosen for the words represent 'Spider-Man' quite well.
Born2punish Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Vote for #5, signature is well made. Made Spiderman only using letters, every single bit of it. Eye-catching too (: Good job participants.
Ryoji Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I actually only care for 1-2 of these..Might as well do what everyone else did, AND BASH ALL SIGS BUT THE ONE I VOTE FOR! CUZ I GOT NOTHIN ELSE TO DO! OTHER THEN TROLL POOR ARTISTS! 1. I like it, but looking at others it can be difficult to label as a typography signature. Once understanding how you did it, I thought it was marvelously composed yet it's whole image might be a bit too complex to grasp onto. 2. I don't really get the entire design, this is almost too hard to understand. Haha. For a random abstract image, it's win. But for me it's composition looks a bit too drab and dull. 3. lol, it's shiny. but, sorry it looks a bit too copy+paste+flare for my tastes. ilu tho? ); 4. Great color scheme, I like the word play. But, as far as originality goes. I see these a dime a dozen for typography. 5. I've seen only a few of these, and it doesn't seem like a whole lot but at the same time it's easy to tell the time and effort that's put into it to match up the outline and color design of the character. It simply looks like it could be potentially in the concept art of a Marvel Comic. Which I might add is a multi million dollar company. I'd really love to see a bit more of texture to it, but overall it's very interesting and unique. I vote for #5. Lol. Sorry ppl. THE SYSTEM IS BROKENz! LOLOLOL!

» Pat Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 ikr I should start bribing as well. @_@;; & where do you see c/p in my sig? .______.
Nyanko Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I have to vote 4. The colors blend perfectly, it flows well, it's not dull or boring. It's in my eyes the best because it stands out from the rest and looks as though it could be used for a magazine. (:
Maiku Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Which sig? in the ya sup thing ._. it looks like theres smaller letters around bigger letters. I don't know what it says O.O

gamersrule26 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I vote #5 The letters make a very good image of spiderman , And the picture just really stood out from the crowd
Ethereal Posted August 3, 2009 Author Report Posted August 3, 2009 P.S. topic closes in 45 minutes. And here's my 2 cents on everyone's signature (except mine.) -------------- [ 01 ] I like it, it really expresses the theme of Japanese fish. But, I would have to say that the typography theme was not executed well enough in this signature. But the typography with the fish is impressive, I just wish I could have seen more of that throughout the "swirls", and the rest of the fish. The colors blend well together as well, but it doesn't really "pop" at me. Nothing really yells "wow, that's beautiful" or "amazing." Overall, good entry, just didn't express typography to the fullest. ------------- [ 02 ] At first, I found the piece 'interesting,' you could say. But after seeing the letters, I was like what is USPYA, until I was told by the creator that it was SUP YA or YA SUP. What I don't get is with the other comments saying, "Wow, that's a valuable life lesson." This may sound harsh but, that comment is a crap-load of BS. Anyways, going back on topic now, it doesn't really express the theme of typography to me. When I look at it, I'm mainly focused on the vectors, not the text. I love the fact that you spent a lot of time carefully placing each small letter in the small space given between the vectors, but overall it's not a piece that I would consider to be typography. Also, the color balance is off. When I look at it, it looks lost. The colors don't blend well as well. The border choice was a good choice though. P.S. The top bar and the bottom bar text aren't in alignment. :) Overall, it's good, but not great or anything that special. --------- [ 03 ] Now this is what could be considered typography. In this entry, the main element is text. So props for that. What I would have liked to seen is different patterns of the same words that you used. Like one going on a different angles, etc. The special effects are fantastic, it really makes the signature go 'pop.' The P and the Q outlines bother me though. Personally, I think it would be better if it was either a thicker border, thicker border with overlay or another setting with lowered opacity. Anyways, enough about that. Typography was indeed executed well, but a little too much. The "Shining On" text doesn't really belong there as well. The colors are great and really go well together too. Overall, great signature. Really caught my eye as well with the abusiveness of text and the different styles you add. ----------- [ 04 ] Hi me! You did a fabulus job. I would pay myself 11 emperium auroras to vote for myself. :oOoOoOoOOOoOoOo ---------- [ 05 ] Now this is an example of typography. The main element is indeed typography, but with a twist. I loved how the text that made up Spiderman was related to Spiderman himself. And I also see that you took my suggestion on making the webs gray. Although it amazes me to see that it's entirely made of text, it just doesn't pop with an explosion. For me, I see it and I say "wow", but I want to see more. It's just there, and nothing else. More flavour, style, and even a few more twists would have been great. P.S. Why did you put your name around his butt area, and you forgot to put his eye... Overall, great entry. Really expresses the theme, typography. --------- Done.
