Fix the speed room~

Seriously

I cant spawn/farm/kill efficiently like I used to be able to.

Every time i spawn then kill if I don't cross the finish line, it wont let me summon/enter again till either 15 minutes is up or I warp back in and cross the finish line.

Suggestion :

Change it back to how it was.

I don't know how but if it is possible please for the love of god fix it, OR

OR

OR

Add a new mob or possibly those mobs on a new Forsaken Field and lower the drop rates to that of Ygg berries off of soildiers OR

OR

OR

Add them in a different dungeon similar to F.dun but have a new quest line that deals around going fast, completeing races etc for the requirements and other such items that go with speed.

that way the drop rates would remain the same, Prices would lower slightly,(more farming)

Easier to do.

Adds another custom quest/dungeon designers could have fun with.

And last but not least,

Makes it so I can Farm Speed Potions again!

Input, suggestions?

Opinions maybe?

This, do it. It's getting harder to find people farming/selling speed now. Fix it soon so our speed eco wont go to shit.

Or maybe just get used to it the way it is now. Speed pots are not mandatory for any class. They get you to the emp quicker, so you can start breaking sooner. Badges and inc Agi will make you quick as well, but I know it's not the same as speed pots. Turbo Room was a quick and easy way for players to get speed pots, but it's not detrimental if it stays the way it is now. That's just imo, 'course.

A mob that drops them would be fine, but the percent would be small.

A mob that drops them would be fine, but the percent would be small.

That would personally be completely acceptable to me.

I just don't like warping 5 times and sitting and waiting for a map to load so I can kill maybe 20ish mobs.

I think the drop rate of yggdrasil berries from soldiers whatever that percent is should be fairly reasonable so long as there is quite a few mobs running around the map. And while I understand they are not mandatory for classes it is and has been an easier way for some players to work their way up the food chain so to speak. with ygg prices low and speed potion prices high which would you rather farm?

In all honesty I made a fortune when I first started farming them in mass with a slight discount. I had damn near a fully geared F.Set. till that day when it mysteriously "Disappeared"

To be able to farm again at the speed of yggdrasil in for_fild would be an ideal if anything. I just want a way we could either by-pass or eliminate the warping aspect that takes more time than killing the damn things.

Yggdrasil berries are dropped at a 50% rate in for_fild from the soldiers. I think, because of how rare they used to be (sort of) perhaps 25~35% would be a bit better? You can still farm them better than in turbo room, but not quite as fast as berries?

Sounds reasonable to me 20-30% is do-able and would keep the price as is.

However, I would like there to be quite a number of them on the map trying to keep mob spawns in same ratio that soldiers are in for_fild02. Of course this would probably go without saying, but with ease of access comes more farmers, more farmers, less mobs. Could get semi problematic. Hence why I suggested the quest to get inside of said map (see below)

But now as for what mob/where:

My suggestion is to add a recolored soldier;(Soldier of Speed, white or Red?) since the mobs spawned by the turbo room are probably scripted specially.

And as for where, would it be possible to clone an existing map and re-use it for this. And if so could we make it a "cave map"?

Would also like more input on the quest aspect of this, and is it reasonable in your opinions to have a quest to open up the map for the player?

If not then could we add them to an existing map or clone a map and add it to the list of for_fild?

Win Win scenario imo.

Maybe we could integrate our already created and ridiculously painful mine quest, and make a new pass that allows entrance into this new dungeon. I think maybe, 50 monsters that spawn every...10 seconds? Would suffice. Especially if it's a quest dungeon.

Yes, to number 1

Yes to number 2.

And yes, 50 every 10 sec is ./slur worthy.

Now we just need the mob, and for someone with the actual power to do this, and we can accept it :D

What if we made a for_dun02 with monsters that drop speed pots, and some other stuff (maybe foods at a lower percent?).

To get into the dungeon you'd need a second dungeon pass.

I like the addition of for_dun02 idea.

This would make players have to farm and go through the first quest of mining, and then proceed.

Similar to the wings upgrade idea but different.

Plus with the stat food idea, Even more reason to, and that would add another item to sell in mass for WoE and other occasions. "Brilliant!"

Imo, that sounds perfect,

Possibly add a npc in for_dun01 that allows access to quest number 2? ( Possibly semi hidden?)

And as for quest requirements?

Possibly some of those unused gems that we get in bulk from first doing the mine quest ( the more common ones)

Some sort of random item that has nothing to do with it at all and some other things that have to do with going fast?

Posted
That sounds nice. How about even more dungeons for other 'high demand' consumable items and not just speed pots? :D

Possibly EDP bottles at a very very low chance? Is what I assume you mean. 5% or lower would be a nice addition but I fear that the quest if we had that added to them as well would HAVE to take weeks to do simply because speed potions and stat food is a lot for one mob to drop already.

But that's just my opinion.

Another suggestion for another thread I suppose.

Devotion and I talked about possible items to drop, and we agreed that no class specific items. That would make it a bit unfair. Stat foods can be used by everyone, as can Speed pots. We'd like to keep it to general items and not ones that help only one or two classes. If there was a mob that dropped stat foods, it wouldnt be the same monster that drops speed pots. There would be a mob to drop speed pots at 20~30%. 50 of them spawning every 10 seconds. Then there would be another mob on the same map that drops stat foods. We haven't talked about which foods, +10 or +5 or what, and we haven't really thought about what monsters would be the mobs. Input please? :D

Well I suppose we could do recolors of already existing Mobs for stat foods, Change the color based on what stat food it drops.

Recolored

Red Wootan Fighter: Str

Orange Wolf?: Agi

Blue Peco: Vit

Purple Willow: Int

Green Smokie...?: Dex

Yellow Rice Ball..?: Luk

And as far as the keeping it general based, I can understand and I agree with the reasoning behind that.

and as for speed pots,

We should recolor the Spring Rabbit to White.

Alice in Wonderland reference would be so baws imo.

Seeing as how the White Rabbit is always worried about being on time.

-----------------------------------------------

I think some of those monsters that Happy made (credits go to her) can be used for the for_dun02 idea. Preferably, I think the Lif, or the re-color of Lif would be great as a monster who drops Speed Pot. Reason for this is because as a creator, you would know they have the skill Urgent Escape, which increases movement by heck of a lot. It's like speed pot, but lasts longer. And it only requires the SP of the homunculus.

Anyways going off topic back there, I believe some of the other homunculus should be useful for other item drops in the for_dun02.

------------------------------------------------

Possibly to add a twist, let's say we add in one of the re-colors of Lif as a monster who drops speed potions. What if we add a card for it (eg. Runaway Lif Card) that drops at a really low percent (eg. 0.01%). If a person gets that card, then the card effect would become something like: Makes Speed Potions drop at 50% instead of 20~30%. Just throwing out ideas.

------------------------------------------------

Or, Devotion's idea of a "Speedring" could work. Although, it might take some spriting to do.

I do like the idea of the Homunculus for the mobs. Especially these recolors, they are fantastic.

Perhaps have the baby forms of the Homunculus` drop + 5 food and the Larger ones + 10..?

And as for the card idea. From a farmer perspective That would be awesome. The equivalent of a thana card for farmers of speed Haha.

I'm curious as to what a speedring would look like,

possibly a Poring with a Helmet similar to the flash?

Posted

Perhaps speedring could look like a Poring (maybe different color) With pointed sunglasses, a red cape, perhaps a racer helmet (like speed racer's) and move faster than a person walks, but not incredibly fast? Looks cool in my head, lol.

YES white helmet with pointed glasses and a red cape!

That would be EPIC!

N> More input on my idea as well.

For the "Speedring," I was thinking we could also add some racing-track-marks or whatever when it walks(?)/bounces.
