Anarii Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Instead of just zeny, let the vendors vend for coupons? I think it's possible, I've seen it done on other servers. -Because the bigger part of this economy is run by coupons, vending should be available for it.
Terroryst Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Good idea. May reduce the need for broadcaster, and if that goes down then people can't hide broadcast abuses in marketing. Example being something like : OMG (name) UR SO KOS B> BERRIES.
Tiago Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I agree. Had this idea before, thought it wasn't possible.
xBiscuit Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I support this idea. Maybe I can get my headgears for cheaper. teehee~~
Diablo336 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 This is good idea men. I wan have shops with qponz!
Amorous Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I like this idea a lot. I think this would definitely help the broadcast abuse and make it easier for players to buy what they need and make vendors actually useful again.
Lae` Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Lol But THEN we will need to organize :p Yep yep. If we did this would they let merchants set up shop in Fcity? Seems like it get to chaotic! @_@ But at the same time good cause most people are there. So yeahh..Dunno if I said that well enough.
sinichi69 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Maybe separate the coupon sellers to zenny sellers. I agree with this.
Hated Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 But if people are buying or takeing time to look in shops i think there willing to go @warp Mall? xD
Sensation Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I think this would definitely help the broadcast abuse. Could already be done by asking 1 donation/event coupon for each broadcast, yet that would be 'too much', so zeny is used instead. Raise the price(x10) and it will lower the spam, not much are willing to throw in a half of a coupon for some "l0lz". To Anarii: I'd like to have feedback on the other thing that will come up then; What and how do people buy coupons when they have none and what will happen to zeny. Zeny was used so it could be traded for coupons, your way means it would be replaced with coupons. Do you want a dual trade system or what is the plan? Also heard about the new auction system that is somewhat working on the official server? That might be a better destination for your coupon idea.

They could use the most efficient way of hunting yggs, edps, cards, questing, and then re-selling for coupons through their merchant. Yes, I agree that zeny would have less of an impact in this server if this should be implemented, but do we actually NEED an economy with zeny? It will still be there, but only for small uses such as broadcast/decarding, etc (because as of now, zeny isn't really used for much anything). If you want zeny to have more of an impact in the server, create useful quests that require zeny, increase broadcast price, etc. stuff like that. I want merchants to be able to open up a merchant shop selling items for coupons. I've heard of it, but not too sure how it works.
» Pat Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Idk, add a new skill to the db or wherever skills are saved and copy/paste the 'Vending' code. Then just change it so that it uses coupons as currency instead of zeny and add it to Merchant cls or make a new item, e.g. the 'Sales' headgear and make it give you the skill (idk about the cart though). Not sure if it's possible that way, though. Almost no idea of C++ or whatever RO is coded in, lol.
helios_eclipse Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 think about this, if it is possible to vend for coupons, people will just offer their prices with coupons...yes, mentioned. doing so, i think will just push newcomers away since they have no chance in getting any decent stuff w/o having coupons... they can mvp, well, yes, get the card but how long how many til they get the first card drop? and with some new improvements to some of the mvps, most of them wouldn't even stand a chance. questing for stuffs could be the solution but then again, how many times should you make that certain item to get the amount you need? hunting, for newcomers without a pass, where will they go to? for_fild02? how many drops berries and whats the chance again? edp, collecting 100 for 1 ticket can be a pain in a55 and thats for 2 coupons. That's a nightmare for new people. You can sell it at 50 for 1 but what if you have lower and you're on the verge of giving up because its just so damn hard and etc. etc.? (lol, maybe) i just see it that way  sorry if i said anything wrong :shiftyeyes_anim: and so with that i rest my case. LOL
Anarii Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 What do the newcomers wish to buy from vendors anyway? Whenever I go there everything is pretty much OP and can be bought much cheaper with coupons. You don't have to MvP to get coupons, there's always the stable ygg hunting/edp hunting, questing, and more. There's no short way out of starting poor, and working your way up except for donating. As for zeny value, I've already suggested above ways to combat the negative effects on zeny that this suggestion would cause. Of course, those that already have coupons will recieve benefit from the suggestion, but those who don't will also benefit. They can use the vendor to easily vend their items for coupons, perhaps making earning coupons better for them. But believe it or not, newcomers will have to learn the economy sooner or later if they wish to survive in this server. They can't just look to the past where their server was run with zeny, they have to look at the now, the server they're currently in. FRO. sorry for the long post.
helios_eclipse Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 by this everything is pretty much OP and can be bought much cheaper with coupons do you mean people will charge pretty much the normal price for the stuffs? (if this were to be implemented) i think not =.= it will just push to more over-pricing. you bc to buy stuffs because if someone is offering, you can negotiate prices between the two parties, but if you've got no say on one end and just have to buy what is really offered, there is also a possibility where people will OP more.
Anarii Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 That's why the shops will be there for convenience, enabling the vendors(those who need to make money), to slightly, or however they wish to price it, OP. Meaning that said vendors will gain more coupons than just B/Cing for the regular amount.

Anarii Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 All I said was that vendors would be able to make more money due to the convenience of their shops, and that the broadcast is there for people who want to buy for cheaper. Doesn't sound like an economy down the drain to me. The people who are well off with coupons are the ones who will be buying from the vendors, giving the lower-class more money.
Samildanach Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I'd vote for it, since I really don't like the haggling part, and I'd be spending less time waiting and be doing some other thing.
