Ok, this has gotten on my nerves for so long, but what the hell is so great about the Halo series? Yeah, I will admit that Halo: Combat Evolved was a good game, very innovative, very fun. Then a little something called Halo 2 came along. Same game, SAME EXACT GAME, just which tweaked weapons(most of the tweaks to make them crap) and newer graphics.

Now, we have this little gem so aptly named Halo 3. Do I even have to go into what is wrong with this? Since I know that there are Halo fans who refuse to see the truth of this game, I'll point it all out; Same game as Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved, only difference is, again, tweaked weapons and a couple of new ones. Oh yeah, they fixed online play, somewhat. But wait, what's this? Are those the same maps as Halo 2? Okay, how about the fact that it takes little to no skill to play and succeed at this game. Or what about the fact that, like I said before, Halo 3 is Halo 2 with shiny graphics? Hey, tell me about the storyline, would ya'? Can't? That's because the plot was poorly written, and poorly played out. Don't give me this crap about, "Oh, this game was designed to be played online!" Well, then why bother putting in a Single Player Campaign? And hell, even the online component of this game ties into the terrible single player action. The Online Play is shit anyway. So many people hack and mod that playing this game online is just a matter of whose hacks are better. Fuck that, if I'm going to spend my money on a game(in this case, it was a horrible waste), I want to play the damn game, and play it fair. I don't want some prick who can't play getting headshots on me from across the map because he downloaded an AimBot.

Someone, please tell me, how the hell is this game popular?

lC9l Chi add me, ill prove to you how little to no skill it takes to play to succeed at the game. (Halo 3, maybe 2 if I still have it)

im guessing you've only played halo 2 online which is obsolete but probably still fairly popular. players nowadays and even before have found various ways to bring their modded and hacked xbox (original) online. if you had played halo at its peak you would have probably been more satisfied.

yes this game was specifically designed for online play, Halo:CE was just an introduction for players to get a "feel" for the game. The purpose of the single player campaign was to just give an overview and some history of what is "Halo." (if you want to really know the strict history of halo, go read the book) Sure Halo 2 had only SOME differences, but big ones. More flexibility of its control and movement (not sluggish like CE) introduced dual wield, new modes, balanced the weapons, and of course online play; creating levels, ranks for different modes, clan, clan ranks, and clan matches. back then this type of shit was innovating especially playing online through a system hence why millions bought the game and became even more popular.

The main reason why halo 3 was created is because bungie still wanted some more income so they decided to make another one for the new system (360). yes same concept as halo 2 but again some new additions, not really going to much details but you get the point.

the halo series also brought out tournaments, even being a halo player could be considered a profession with a few earning 6-7 digit income a year.

I have played Halo 3 online, and it was disappointing. I know all about Halo, in fact, I love the Halo universe itself, just not the games.

And a note to your Bungie needing more income thing: Bungie is very, very intelligent. They know that if they slap a '3' on the end of the game, and polish the graphics, people will buy it, even if it is the exact same thing as the last. Just goes to show you the level of intelligence the consumer group has.

no, halo 2 and halo 3 are not the exact same thing, same concept yes (use weapons to kill, get better ranks, team plays, individual plays etc) sure bungie's main reason was to make more profit but they did it successfully, and what do you think any game producers had in their mind while developing their game? (it needs to make money) theyre just not going to take halo 2 and replace the 2 with 3. if you truly played the halo series you would notice the difference for each game. from what i see, a competitive FPS game isn't for you.

Uhh I don't think Halo is the same. Different weapons, continued storyline, and different playable characters. In the first one, the pistol was pretty godly since you can scope and it hurts like a bitch. And in the new ODST one coming out, you don't get a shield. Of course there's the Halo Wars one which is a real-time strategy.

I have played the Halo games, and I'm looking to pick up both Halo Wars and Halo ODST whenever I can. The Halo shooters have been disappointing to me, and I pray that ODST is the good Halo universe game I've been waiting on. As I said before, I love the Halo Universe, I just don't like what they've done with the games so far. Not to say I don't have faith in the developers, just so far, they've been sub-par in my opinion. Here's to hoping ODST is the kick ass release it's hyped to be.

Also, I love competitive FPS. CoD4: MW is a favorite of mine. I just personally don't think Halo 3 is that... Competitive, or that great of a game at all.

Not only did it hurt but you could rip the trigger as if it was an automatic. The power of the pistol was ridiculous and if in the hands of a player with skill, best weapon in the game. Hands down.

you are just contradicting yourself, how can you love the "halo universe" and yet hate every aspect of the game; single player, multiplayer, and the concept.

In the first Halo, the pistol was OP, u cud kill a person in like 4-5 quick shots, and the zoom helped quite a bit.

Besides that halo 2 is very different from halo 3, i <3'd the story line, infact i finished the whole game just to know the story line. Everybody's got their own opinion keep that in mind before u start ranting about yours.

If u had bothered noticing Halo 3 has diff maps, diff guns, diff chars, diff online maps, new monsters, and its harder. It does require skill to finish(unless u consider ur self pro after beating it at easy, try legendary)

And ofcourse the graphics are better.

People hack all games, Halo being so popular has become one, if you're so into the game, maybe you should try it competitve, it pays great from what i hear. Im sure they dont use hacks there.

Besides, Halo is a totally different game from CoD, whole different game play and all.

Be open minded.

Halo: Combat Evolved was when you were Spartan 117 and you took down the 1st Ring, Halo 2 is mostly based on the Covenant. now tell me

HOW THE F**K is that the same as Halo: Combat Evolved?

Halo 3 was the worst of the lot IMO, too small and got rid of the Dual-Wield Needler and what the newbs call "NINJEH ARM0R" is supposed to be "UB3R!" when actually, it looks crap. the only ones that look good are the Mark VI and the Mark V armor

If you haven't noticed, Mark V is the armor from Halo: Combat Evolved

Beyond the original trilogy, other "Halo" games have branched off into other video game . Halo 3 is the third and final game in the main Halo trilogy. Halo is the best selling game on Xbox, makes its highly anticipated move to the PC. Enhanced for play on the PC.

Halo 3 is NOT the end of the Halo Franchise, their bringing out Halo 3 : ODST and Halo : Reach

ODST is where you play as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) you don't have a shield and you can carry slightly more ammo, the game is mostly based on Points which are used for Upgrades and such, Halo : Reach, nobody knows about yet.

Halo: great campaign, shitty multiplayer, rather sluggish physics engine.

Halo 2: shitty campaign, awesome multiplayer, awesome physics engine.

Halo 3: average campaign, average multiplayer, average physics engine.

For me, Halo brings back memories, but it's rather obsolete now, especially if you're looking for competitive play. Halo 2 was my favorite, but I'm probably just being biased, because it's one of the shooters I'm best at (I was level 50 when the game was initially released, and I eventually went down and maintained levels of 40-43.) Lots of glitching, with the double shots and BXRs and all.

Halo 3 just felt like a watered down version of Halo 2 where precision was no longer important, as if to make it more enjoyable to new players. You couldn't just overpower the other team with superior aim and BR skills anymore, so you had to rely on teamwork, in a very frustrating way.

After playing just about every FPS there is (and being quite good at all of them) I would have to say that Halo is a good one (albeit 3 sucks). I only liked 2 really... but you know thats just me. Counter Strike is the way to go as far as FPS's go
