While I agree that online "dating" is the reason Icarus us far away from someone he cares about, I'd like to add that you can find some of the most amazing people through the internet. And time after time, I hear the same thing: No one around here is worth it.

When you play online games or meet people in a forum you automatically have something in common, which can be hard for people to find in their RL environment. Being behind a screen also makes opening up easier for some people and they find that they get "closer" faster, if you could call relationships online that (close, considering they're actually... far). I mean sure, having someone RL is 900% better (in my opinion), but hey. I don't think anyone has the right to knock what other people do with THEIR personal relationships. If you're not a part of it, why do you fucking care? No one has any excuse to be a dick to someone for trying to work out the online thing (including people who have tried and failed themselves). I've always preferred relationships over the internet personally. I just don't find girls around me attractive at all. (Not appearance, personality). Also I hate talking German (casually); I'd want to talk English to my lover, not German. I prefer not to talk at all actually. What Charlotte said is definitely true for me. I find it a lot easier to really open up about myself to someone over the internet, which is prolly the reason why I've never dated irl. Nobody knows me IRL since I keep to myself. And yes I would consider it 'close'. Certainly not physically, but that's not my definition of 'close' either way (in this case). Is it not possible for two people to be emotionally close? To find yourself attracted to somebody's personality / style? To fall in love with somebody you've never touched before? I just don't get along with them though. I don't dislike/hate them; I just couldn't find myself being friends (esp. not having a relationship with) anybody around me. The only people I really get along with irl are in my family~

Many people I know, including myself, found someone through RO and took it to the next level. ie. see each other on webcam, talk outside RO, phone and meeting irl. I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years, and we plan to go much longer. We get together at least three times a year. Sorry but, burn :/

Trying to return from school with her in the bus etc. But for me that's not enough. I want that she'll love me like I do. Very difficult the LOVE. Even Shay to ask her for a Date, somehow like on everygirl.

Who I've connected with more than I would ever connect with someone on the internet. Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Special connections are made in person. Not over the internet.
