Leaz Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Gosh, leni you make me jealous with your work. So pro qq. Back on topic: I prefer these instead. ):
Zeitgeist Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Well, members opinions count yknow? If they don't like the emp colors then why not change 'em? I asked Gen too, he said they'd be changed based on users opinions.. so. Yes, player's opinions count, but is this really necessary? Green is perfect, orange & purple are 'k' & red makes my eyes bleed. ]: these recolours > mac's two-toned, saturated ones - and should replace them. The only decent recolour is gold. Purple/Blue/Pink-purple/Green=fuqq wth D:< And those are some of the clearest examples, there's a lot more which are more snide and hurtful. Truly, knowing you -and many other forum users- as artists, I thought you'd know better about how harsh it is to receive criticism without any base. It's disappointing and even embarrassing to look at the whole community lose their grip over how an item is colored. Regardless, the topic continues. However, anymore bashful reviews on MAC and I will start handing out warns and post restrictions. I find it really astonishing as to how ungrateful you guys can be, seriously.

While I may have said some harsh things it's not like I haven't said anything nice ( and I know your post isn't specifically aimed at me but I was quoted): Yeah, unfortunately the new emperium aurora colours do not match with any palettes - but we all should thank Mac for actually bringing new colours to fRO, if we like them or not. Recolouring is hard work and is more than just hue/saturation like most seem to believe. I'm in the midst of doing the recolours and hopefully they'll be tested soon. I don't think we're ungrateful, we just like pretty looking stuff. & Pats opinions about my emp didn't offend me nor did I find them hurtful, when you design you learn to take critisim, it's part of designing. I can understand why you think we're ungrateful but seriously - people have high standards nowadays and if you make something you're bound to get some harsh words put foward. Just my two cents, on with the topic.
Amitsu Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 i like the purple red seems too solid (needs to fix the symbols to a lighter color from and back) green may match but it still looks like throw up :< but in general its good oj is okay but seems too blurred or its just me. It's disappointing and even embarrassing to look at the whole community lose their grip over how an item is colored. true, but it wont attract people if something looks like bad. plus people play for how they look in game and the customs that they can customize themselves with. basically people like to play dress-up I find it really astonishing as to how ungrateful you guys can be, seriously. we aren't bashing on mac, just his recolors. and to be honest, how can we be grateful for something we wish wasn't there? I think honesty is greater than complete bullshit, because it hurts more when you know they're lying.
» Pat Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Seems you tend to exaggerate. & stating your opinion on something does not mean decorating your statements with as many insults as you can think of. It's not about not expressing your thoughts, it's about politeness.
Amitsu Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I prefer someone having telling the truth about me other than saying "hey man you're so cool" and you know they hate you so you know they're full of bullshit. I prefer honesty over that. and i do NOT decorate my posts with insults. I say/type it flat out how I think.
» Pat Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Didn't mean to attack you. And you can be completely honest while still staying polite and serious. No need to hurt nobody's feelings. ]:
Amitsu Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 you're not attacking me, its possible but its like me trying to say "I'm sorry" when i'm not. It's actually really hard for me to say i'm sorry in reality so.. plus i also tend to get ignored so i say it the forceful and more standing out way.
Cirrus Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Uh, back on track, these are really pretty.~ I like them. And red is alright, the good red palettes are the dark ones anyway.
Devotion Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Well idk... sarcastic answers & shit. But no really. There's no (neon-)red in RO. The aura just looks odd. If you want it to look RO-ish, make it pastel. Which looks a bit like pink. Of course there's neon-red in RO O_o Just look at some of the sprite palettes ;o
Amitsu Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 but that crazy orange red yellow neon bright seizure sprite is crazy! >:o
Devotion Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Oh...I hadn't even thought of that one at the time. We have many bright colors, even solid red palettes. But I think the point of something as universal of an emperium aura is to be able to match it to many palettes. If the colors are softer and more neutral they tend to go better with more combination.
» Pat Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Of course there's neon-red in RO O_o Just look at some of the sprite palettes ;o Did gravity design them? No.

Exactly :o Did gravity design them? No. Do we still have red ingame? Yes.
Devotion Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Did gravity design them? No. Actually yes. Some were designed by gravity, and some are bold colors. Not to mention all the vibrantly colored monsters we have, and official headgears. I don't think most bold colors look odd, as long as they're paired with good headgears.
Amitsu Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 i was thinking that people that just go to eAthena forums made them... not gravity... if anything i think gravity would actually notify if they're making something like that and would be on rofuture wiki or something..
Devotion Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 well if you go the the rms char simulator, there are different dye choices, and one is called "Classic Dyes." They're the oldest, and even if they weren't created by Gravity, they're the closes to true RO. But some of them have to have been created by Gravity because the default color is part of the Classic Dyes. In any case, those dyes have some strong colors, like a bright navy blue, strong orange, and yes...bright red.
Amitsu Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 well if you go the the rms char simulator, http://forum.forsaken-ro.net/index.php?showtopic=10899 lol...
Millenia Posted March 12, 2009 Author Report Posted March 12, 2009 really what the fuck does 'ro doesnt have red' have to do with my recolours? rly. im just looking back at your post and idgi. theres a red goddamn palette ingame who gives a shit if it wasnt made by RO, theres still a red palette ingame. whats your point? it just seems like you're throwing in random RO knowledge which noone cares about because: theres red ingame WELL WHAT DO YA KNOW?! OMG. and im doing more recolors to add red. BREAKING THE LAWS OF RO YO BY ADDING RED. srsly wtf. Oh just so you know, there is red in game. Red was added to RO in 1872. It was the first color to have matching items. About 37% of RO users use a red palette of some short. We have 34 different shades of red. Red is great. There is red in game. Many different kinds. Pastel, Neon, all sorts. Red is in game. Just wanted to let you know.
