  1. When you were coming up with (copying from WoW) your brilliant changes you forgot one thing: The reason we are playing Ragnarok Online is because it is not like WoW, Guild Wars, or Lineage. There are some particular things I'd like to address though. 1. First of all, voices are a bad idea in my experience, they never seem to please everyone because right now we're basing our characters attributes on our imagination. It's like once you read a book and imagine how a character sounds then you see the movie and your favorite character has the most annoying voice that you want to just press stop. Same principle applies here, Gravity chose not have the characters have no voices, if you don't believe me then look around the game. Every single thing your eyes can witness has sounds, every spell, every single monster, and every single npc activated event (i.e. equipment repairing and forging) so if they wanted characters to talk they could but they chose not to because... well, RO is not WoW. Emotions? Really? Emoticons aren't doing it for you, you think it would be better if each command made your character grow a mouth and nose and act out the emotion? Can you imagine how stupid that would look on a 2-d character? Dances... The reason other games have dancing is because they are trying to show off that they had some guy sit in a room and work a week on each movement. Yet again, gravity has the ability to do 3D graphics and complex movements but they chose not to, which is why RO is not WoW Different clothes do exist in a free server, its called a clothes stylist. What you're talking about is showing armors and other clothes on the character. No, because the point of RO is your build, which would be given away if everyone could see your full equipment. Other games, especially guild wars since you mentioned it have no focus on builds and really just concentrate on leveling up.
  2. That has to be what you're talking about and it is everything but useless because on these maps you get to use the buffs blessing, comfort, and anger of the sun, moon and stars and also the attack warmth of the sun. moon, and the stars. Also, I noticed that this server has a feeling reset command so that means easy leveling PvP-wise its still not worthless. You might want use all three feelings in the pvp room and use hatred on the class you fight against the most and then you can increase your aspd, flee rate, and vit defense in the pvp room as well as get an attack bonus against any class you declared hatred on. Also, you can use warmth to drain the enemies sp.
  3. Right, you're right. I find this topic helpful as I stated and it is necessary to see how the players actually do feel. The only thing I disagree with about this is drawing this weird line on what is okay to say and what isn't. This is a valid topic but I just think that its going to keep going and going. If we draw the line here and close this topic, then someone is going to question the line in another and so on and so on. And I'm also not saying that people should stop reporting things they feel are inappropriate. I'm saying that people should really rely on the GMs to assist them.
  4. This is a picture based on M.C. Escher 's painting called "The Infinite Staircase". This is this topic in a nutshell. As soon as we think we have this issue resolved, when we think we reached the end of this issue, there will be more to address. It's inevitably infinite. The people on the stairs are the players in this game. Notice how they are all on different steps? That's where they all draw their lines. No matter where "we" as a small group that hardly represents the majority of the players draw this alleged line, there are going to be a lot of unhappy people. After all, we all come from different backgrounds and lived totally different lives. Somewhere in this server is someone who thinks "shut up" is inappropriate and for them having the line drawn at just no racial slurs or drugs is offensive to them. Then there's someone else who uses "inappropriate" words every other word and they will think drawing the line at no racial slurs violates their freedom of speech. What I'm trying to get across is, no matter where we draw this line, it makes some feel uncomfortable while others feel overly happy. My opinion, there doesn't need to be a line drawn anywhere. That's why we have GMs and that's why GM have to be specially picked. Each GM has their line drawn on this infinite ladder somewhere and so its their opinion when someone crosses it. GMs are the law enforcers here, they choose how they handle certain things. If they don't feel something was really offensive then they don't have to punish someone for it. Metaphorically, the rule that says "Immoral Speech" can not be used is like the speeding law. While some cops will give a person a ticket for speeding, some will let it slide and that's their choice because they are enforcing said law. Let me reinstate, GMs are the rule (law) enforcers here and how strict or lenient they decide to be is their choice. Condensed version: Like the picture, opinions on this topic are infinite because everyone has a different line they would draw on the matter. That's why we have GMs to enforce the rule their way. I'm not saying it shouldn't be discussed but as soon as you think you've come to an accepted opinion, there will be someone that won't agree and you'll have to start climbing all over again.
  5. Although I don't know how they scripted this, in another server they had the stylist be able to "store" your five favorite styles. It was unnecessary but still if you're going to make the stylist work backwards, something else to consider I suppose.
