We have a loading screen showing you the difference but let me post it here for those who do not read our loading screens. First off, the current Game Master Team. Things to remember about real Game Masters: 1.) We will not give you a private event. All events in ForsakenRo are open to the whole server. If a so called "GM" enters your pub or sends you a PM saying "You won for playing FRo more than an hour per day!", then this is definitely a scam. 2.) Real Game Masters have different sprites and golden names. As you may have noticed, we do not appear as the ordinary player. We have our own set of clothers regardless of the class we are in. If you see a normal looking player with the name of "GM" or "Admin", please report them, and we will deal with the cases appropriately. Example of a Game Master Sprite: 3.) Real Game Masters have [GM] in their names. You cannot create a character starting with [GM]. Some scammers though, do a little twist with the Game Master name, some of the example fake GM names will be shown below. Real Game Masters will not ask for your account information. Even in the ticket system, you will notice that we only ask for your username and not your password. Most people tend to get scared if they got PMed by someone with a GM in their name. The thing is, we usually only PM a player when they ask for help with the @request or when we are bot checking the fields. We will not in anyway ask for your account information. 5.) The Chat Room issue. We will not in anyway just randomly pop in your chatrooms. Alerts that we are inside will be shown. Please take a good look at the example below. Screenshots were all taken from Dr. Love's Ticket. As you will notice in the first screenshot, no alerts of the GM, in this case, me, entering the room. You will also notice Hampas having a line but not saying anything above my name. This is due to the fact that she typed in a lot of spaces then my name to convince the players that I am there. In this screenshot, you will then see how she gives her username and password, so she will also be seen as a victim if ever. She then asks the other player his/her account info. If the other player gives it, then bam. She changes the password and the player gets hacked, big time. Tips to avoid being scammed by these perpetrators. 1.) The easiest way is to tell them to recall you, or show themselves to you. If they do not appear as with the descriptions above, then take a screenshot and click Here. 2.) Do not fall for the easy money tricks these scammers usually do. 3.) Type @stafflist. Most people tend to forget we have this command. Typing this simple command will save you a from a lot of trouble. It may not always be updated, but it gives an overview of the members of the Game Master Team. It is true that Genesis is kind enough to return scammed items to the players, something not every administrator would do. However, just because he does this does not mean that we should let our guard down and just get scammed by every scammer there is. It is a bit sad, but every server lies a scammer. We may not be able to detect all of them before hand, but with the help we get from you, our players, through your reports, we try to make ForsakenRo the best server there is. Dragon Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Be sure to add the fact that if a "GM" speaks to you in a chat room but does not appear in the member list for the chat room, then they are not there. If we enter a chat room, our name will show up like the rest of your names. This trick is common for scammers. Again, if our name isn't in the list of people in the chat room, then we are not there.
