Pvp Ladder Suggestions

BUMP.

It came to my realization that part one of this suggestion is highly necessary and with HASTE. It seems like certain individuals take advantage of the lack of GMs particularly during 2:00:00-ish and later server time. According to Cole (Drax), this appears to happen frequently. This is basically around North American night time (I am assuming most of our GM team is derived from the North American population).

To avoid names (I have evidence, which I will compile into a report later), a particular individual fed from around 70 kills to 135 kills (as recorded as I am writing this post). This blatant cheating could easily be caught by members of the server with the implementation of suggestion one.

This is an interesting suggestion... Concerning the idea about changes in the map of the pvp room, while it's a neat idea, I thought I'd bring up some concerns about it:

It can't be done every week or even every 2 weeks, that's a big workload on myself to think of a brand new map every week. Monthly, maybe. Bimonthly, more likely. The thing is, we can't just use preset maps and cycle through them because the warp to the map would change every single time we change it. That poses a problem for us GM's because we'd be having to guess which map is the pvp map for that time, making it harder to keep an eye on pvp. Therefore, I'd have to customize the map we already have in order for a change of scenery (which I wouldn't mind in moderation). But what also makes it impossible to do a change of map every week, even if I could make a new scene that fast, players would probably have to patch in order to see the map. I'm not quite sure if everyone would like patching weekly.

I do think that's a doable idea in moderation though.

I dont think we were asking for a new map EVERY week for ladder, just we've had this map for... god who knows feels like years were just asking for ONE new map for now atleast.

As much as suggestion four would aesthetically enlighten the setting, I feel we should focus more on the first three suggestions.

A change on map are would be just nice to see. Every month or every season is just fine. We the players already know the work load you guys put into it.

I dont agree with removing basillica, any 2x atk sniper can decimate your entire team in 2-3 FAS. I believe that Basillica is (most likely) the best counter for any class revieving gosple buffs.

I don't like that the only changes to the tokens is going from 10 to 5 and the rest staying the same, it seems kind of unfair to me but you really cant do much, the current tokens for winning ladder are 10 - 4? - 1 so if u cut them by half we can see some issues with 3rd place ladder participants. I'm not against this idea I would just like to see something a bit more balanced.

Agree with changing the pvp map.

What happened to the suggestion about doing a debuff within the NPC to get into PVP?

You guys are always about teamwork, so that would help decrease the amount of people who come in with gospel, and also encourage the pure support classes in PVP like soul linkers and creators.

That would remove fcp though. Giving a big advantage to the stalker/sniper class when you first enter. Plus, most fpers are just free kills in pvp so people usually don't want them in there.

I would be more inclined to agree if it didn't remove fcp.

It would bring a class that is made into a slave an actual useful class in PvP. I bought that creator weapon and thoroughly enjoy it. We need more people on creator and removing FCP upon entry would help boost the player count of creators.

Much like how enabling basilica helps create the need and usefulness of priests in PvP.

I realize this. I would love to see the class used more, but sadly people just don't use it. People don't like support classes much like priest.

I just think it would give a very unfair advantage to stalkers/snipers already in the room. Your team focuses the fcper when he walks in, then the stalker/sniper strips all of the fcper's teammates as they enter. It would only widen the difficulty gap of people trying to enter pvp against the people already there with full buffs, gospel, etc...

Not if you have a basillica priest in there protecting them from strip!!! ^_^

You can't FCP them while they're in basilica either... so it hurts as much as it helps.

Also, just thought about it but stalkers would lose their copied skills as soon as they enter as well.

Besides. I'm just trying to relieve your woes and QQ's about people coming in pre-gospeled. I think it just sets a fair playing field for the party that was already in there. We all hate it when you are just waiting for some douchey WS or Asura champion to just come in gospeled, assumptio'd, and fcp'd to walk in and kill everyone and think he's the shit.

It happens.

Anyways, stop being so srs. If they don't like the suggestion, then you don't like it. You think of a better way to stop the QQ'ing.

I can agree to everything but not about the prize, because im not wasting my time to just get the half of the required tokens for the wings.

About the skills it would be more competitive to disable the basilica from pvp room, tbh it causes not much harm at all but gets annoying sometimes.

Cool thread contribution bro.

I like the idea for the debuffer - integrate it into the NPC. That certainly changes how people would play Ladder.

There was also the idea of no-parties upon entering the arena.

That would remove fcp though.

Couldn't you code it to work like dispell?

Like I said.... I have no problem with it if it doesn't remove Full Chemical Protection.

Basilica is an amazing counter to people entering with buffs anyway, so I really don't see why we should bother changing this.

I'm voting against the debuff suggestion and a rework is needed on the tokens if its going to be shortened to 1week ladder.
