nines Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I used to give fsets and elite sets out occasionally when I had no use for em. But now I roll 3 to 4 accounts geard so I stopped xD.
Perishable Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Also, this is my suggestion on Forsaken Dungeon Quest. Current Forsaken Dungeon Quest [Miner] You know, I'd do just about anything to get my hands on some minerals... Sadly I have been having no luck, think you can give me a hand? Replying with; Why not. [Miner]: Wonderful! Here is what I need you to bring me: 75 Enriched Eluniums. 75 Enriched Oridecons. 60 Green Charm Stones. 50 Mithril Ores. 50 Gold Ores. 50 Silver Ores. Replying with; Maybe later... [Miner] Alright then. My Suggestion do something like this in this part of the conversation. Replying with; Why not. Wonderful! If you bring me a few mining items located in this mining portal, you will be given a free pass that allows you to be teleported to Forsaken Dungeon! Here is what I need you to bring me: ?? Enriched Eluniums. ?? Enriched Oridecons. ?? Green Charm Stones. ?? Mithril Ores. ?? Gold Ores. ?? Silver Ores. Replying with; Maybe later... [Miner] Are you sure? Forsaken Dungeon is a dungeon where you can hunt many Yggdrasil Berry. You can convert 100 of Yggdrasil Berry into 1 Yggdrasil Berry Ticket. Players buy them with Donation Coupon. The ratio is 3 Yggdrasil Berry Ticket per 1 Donation Coupon. As known as 3:1 ratio. If we actually tell the player that this NPC gives Forsaken Dungeon Pass, they would probably know why the NPC requires those items and actually do the quest. Know what I mean? And for the "??" we can discuss and what would make the quest much easier. How does it sound?
nines Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 That seems to work could make it so its already at the start tho like the fdun does yada yada helps u get yada yada etc etc then say would you like to make this item. Ok. then i require these items to make it.

Xtopher Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 If anyone does start an independent guild to help people let me know and I'll join. I like your idea Som... Educating them about the point of the dungeon is important.
nines Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Though if there going to do the quest im pretty sure they already know what its for lol. Should be a tip screen when people make there chars.
Madman Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 What you could do is to encourage new players to vote more often and trade vote tickets for donate coupons, like maybe 5:1 or 10:1 rates. Its better for the server with recognition and helps those newbies =)
nines Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 easly abuseable you can make multiple accounts vote em all and make ur self uber rich.
Xtopher Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Well you can't trade votes... You wouldn't get uber rich if 10 votes = donation.... thats 10 days. You would have to find a different Ip for each account anyway. If anything it would super boost the voting amount done something I know the GMs are shooting for.
Madman Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Hmm dont they have like and IP thing that checks if the same computer voted already it wont allow it even on a different account?
nines Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 You don't have to vote u can just click on the vote buttons then get credited and it cause people to make mass accounts just to get quick qpons lol.
Madman Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 But the point im trying to get at is if they have an ip checker to see if they have already voted on the same IP address
nines Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Just had a good thought, Could make it so people who help out in this guild to help new players out etc guide them are the ones who get priority to become a gm when they need to recruit, so they don't judge off bias or hire abusive gms or people who gm for like 3 days then stop.
maxlittle007 Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 How about a questable head gear ,that gives all stats+5 ,and 10% chance of auto level 5 storm gust while doing melee damage. Just a small suggestion :P.So new players can easily level up or farm.
aliceeee Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Well a problem with more zeny is that new players might create multiple accounts to obtain the free zeny. The best option would be the quests suggested, harder quests as Phenomenon requested :3 and of course the equips that arent tradeble and is given to them when they start of as a new player in the server. Well another thing we can do to make the new players experiences more worthwhile is that stronger and more experienced players help them with their questions and with zeny. Make the community a better place for everyone :D
sessions Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Well a problem with more zeny is that new players might create multiple accounts to obtain the free zeny. Perhaps the increased zeny could be given as the character changes their job. Like... Novice->First Class=25,000 First Class->Second=50,000 Second->Rebirth=100,000 High Novice->Rebirth First Class=25,000 Rebirth First->Trans Second=250,000 Maybe even more zeny than that but something like that possibly.
Veracity Posted August 10, 2010 Author Report Posted August 10, 2010 (edited) Oh, and btw we could give the newbie weapons the skill steal or the Rogue's Snatcher skill so they can grab more items while killing/farming. I like the idea of quest-able rucky! It should be a normal poring... or does one of those already exist? Adding steal/snatcher skill is an interesting idea. I was thinking something similar for the questable rucksack. The GM who accepted the suggestion before had made some, I believe, but she is no longer here... We could probably see if one of the spriters would be willing to make some. And my suggestion is that if we do start a team/guild of people helping newbies out in-game, the guild should be led by Senior GameMaster or Genesis. All the Veterans that are willing to help new players and wants to be part of a the new support guild in-game have to send in an application. This is different, not GMing. So not just GMs all the time doing support chat. And it doesn't always have to be chat support, we players can walk around and guide the newbies anything they want to learn and start off. Also like make our names Blue or Red? Like GMs, their name is Yellow/Gold. This is just my suggestion. The idea of having a player support guild that's affiliated with the staff has already been rejected more than once. I don't think that this is really an option, though I'm not against it myself. As I said in another post, you are more than welcome to help players on your own time. When looking at GM applications, I would imagine that the staff already considers how helpful the applicant is to other players, along with other things. About the Forsaken Dungeon Quest NPC: I think most people who have access to the NPC would know why they would perform the quest, like nines said. I certainly don't see the harm in adding in the dialogue you suggested, though. I think making sure new players know that the pass exists is a good idea. Something that I had thought of is adding an NPC to welcome players to fRO, explain unique things about the server, tell players to make a ticket if they have an issue or need support, etc. We could include something about the Forsaken Dungeon pass in there as well. What do you guys think of this idea/do you have any suggestions for what else the NPC could say? What you could do is to encourage new players to vote more often and trade vote tickets for donate coupons, like maybe 5:1 or 10:1 rates. Its better for the server with recognition and helps those newbies =) This is an interesting idea as well. We could certainly discuss this more. Though it is abusable as nines said. To do this, we would have to figure a way around that. You can only vote on the actual voting sites (eg. Game Sites Top 200) about once a day from an IP. As far as I'm aware though, you can just make multiple accounts and click the vote buttons without actually voting, but still receive the vote points (unfortunately). While vote points are account-bound, if you could convert them to donation coupons then that would mean you could pass them to different accounts. Well a problem with more zeny is that new players might create multiple accounts to obtain the free zeny. Though they could do this, zeny does not have much value on this server. It can buy things from NPCs and supplies for some classes, but that's about it... I don't think it would matter that much. Edited August 10, 2010 by Veracity
Dudu Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 (edited) Well I really love how people is giving out ideas to help new players out, I love the questable ruck and wings because it will make new players feel happy about this server So like the forsaken elite quest, its easy but hard to achieve like Ryuk said so, I'm thinkin of reducin it difficulty and! Make a "forsaken quest dungeon" for al classes but, to not make it op, we can just enable the melee atks to kill monsters, so like ther will be 2 quest dungeons, 1 for the ruck and 1 for thee wings, to make it exclusive for new people we can use an only color for both, and also givin it a not so 100% drop rate, like. 85-90 so it won't be that easy. So what u guys say!? Lol im quoting my own Post lmfao.... Well i want to like remind u guys of this idea i had and, adding some new things.......... Lets make like "Gold Room" But instead of getting gold, you could get "some" of the things that The New Begginers Ruck or Wings requires and like i said, just enable the melee atks. So im having a few Sprite ideas. They arent mine, i just saw them and i like them... Begginer "Goldy" Helm The Wings. Theres many other colors i was just too lazy xD As for the rucks, i was thinkin not making a new Ruck cuz im tired of them so i came up with this! Begginers Sage Ring Theres more colors of this one too. I DIDNT MADE ANY OF THOSE SPRITES! I just found them and i think they are cute  So i guess thats all for now O= ! Ethereal Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 @ Edu, Just a question on your idea. The quests are only for beginners, correct? So would you say there should be restrictions to the quest? Example: can you only do the quest as a novice? Or can you do it any time you want? (Even for characters that are already transcedent at 255/255 already). The idea of the two separate rooms isn't quite so bad either. Although, I think challenging the player to go look for items around the world of Rune Midgard is more appealing. Unless you can only do this as a novice, then nevermind this. The sprites aren't so bad. The helmet doesn't really have the essence of a 'beginner' item (well, at least in my opinion). I wouldn't mind the wings... but the recolours are utterly hideous there. The sage ring is a maybe for me.

So i was thinkin of an automated quest when u reached 255/255 Like, when You get 255/255 a windows opened saying "Congrats you reached max level! blablabla and then asks you to warp to a place were 2 npcs appears telling you the 2 quests "The ruck and the wings" and the things you have to collect.. Its true he fact that we should let them look for things in all RO world to make it more interesting, so i was thinkin of makin those dungeons with not ALL the required items and a 85% of chance..... If u hab problems with mi sprites, go look for better ones Ima!!! I jk :3 But yeah you can find hotter and Cuter sprites xD
nines Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Lame. love the wings tho, and no Ami the recolors don't suck its just the collections pictures that suck.
Ethereal Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Well, I just don't like the recolors at all. I downloaded the .spr's for them and checked em' out- still don't like em. @ Edu, Hmm. Now that I think about it, the idea isn't so bad. I don't think it should really say "Congratulations, you have reached the max level! Would you like to warp here _________ for this?"Considering it is a quest, I think players should be able to look for the NPC. Now that you say that it should be 255/255 to be able to do the quest, I wouldn't exactly consider it a 'beginner' quest. It'd be just an ordinary quest. I'm personally all for being able to do the quest as you start off as a novice. I'd look for sprites to use, but I'd like to know if you're absolutely 100% sure on the quest is going to be for a novice or a 255/255.

Well your are so right on the 255/255 thing so, I was thinkin of, making the quest avaible for Novices and 2-1, 2-2 classes, so when they reborn, they will have some gears to help them level! How bout that n_n?
Xtopher Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I don't think newbie gear should have a lvl 255 req. I think the quest should be available when ever they want to do it if not immediately upon making the new character. The sprites shouldn't be and don't have to be the best looking. Actually looking better gives them something to strive for other than stats/bonuses. I like the ones you have posted Edu.

Eiii dis Post wus goin with flying colors and now it stopped? u___u Well Xtopher u be right. Lets think that each time you get a job ( Before Reborn ) The Npc Tells you theres a quest that it will make you powerful! And in order to get it you must look around on Fcity. So when you hit reborn and have to level again, it wont be that hard since you will get this super hawt rucks and wings and your Newbie Set! O dis be a bumpy too n________n.
