Hello fellas! :D

So i was thinking, since we have some lackness of GM activity on the server ( No offence but its true ) Why dont we put some automated Events like a

Automated Dice event, or a survival, or even better, LMS!

It will be waay better because, the only fun fRO has is like GvG and Woe and some Events hosted by a minimun quantity of GM's

I know its summer and u guys have personal issues and blablabla, but If u applied to be a GM , Why not doing ur work? :3

SEE YA!

Edu.

Heck, I don't see why not! I've seen automated dice on a couple of other servers and it works perfectly. I'd love to see how it'll work on our server.

First off, our GMs have been fairly active. We've had an average of 6 events per day, which isn't bad considering that, as you say, they do have "summer stuff". Most of the people still in the team have been in it for months, so when they applied, they didn't have to worry about family going on summer vacation for weeks. Some people do have lives. :)

Secondly, I'm honestly not sure how an automated event would work, recognizing a winner, and handing out a prize. Anyone care to explain?

Oh sure why not.

Ok so lets say that, we have an automated Maze event.

If someone wins, the npc makes a global npc saying whos the winner, then the same NPC recalls you and gives you the prize. xD Simple as that. :P

6 events/day is not the same as 6 events at 6 different times a day. a GM will log on and host 2 or 3 then another will log on hours later and do the same and afaik it's always the same GMs so props to those couple who find the time to do that.

an automated event really would take care of that i think it's a great idea. as xtopher said, it's not a hard thing to implement.. i'm sure there's plent of scripts already developed out there because i certainly know i've played servers that had mazes, poring races, etc. that were held every hour or so.

then again with more events .. i'd hope to see more event rewards!

Hah, I think you meant Edu... Easy mistake, I troll the forums enough to be mistaken.

Anyway, if this suggestion is possible then I agree. It would free up more precious GM time for other things.

Downside: It decreases player : Administration relationship. I barely ever see the GMs outside of events as is. But I guess thats not a big deal to a lot of people.

No, automated events will not be added, the tags needed for them are already used. be grateful with what you have, GM applications are open now so we should get some fresh new GMs soon.

@Goldy: Stop kissing ass. Stop making idiotic posts (see post above). It seems like every other post of yours is either you quitting, flaming, or complaining about something (read: complaining not posting something productive).

@Others: I don't think any of you have the knowledge to tag something as "not a hard thing to implement". If it were that easy to implement we would have done it already; hiring/training/managing GMs is time consuming. Your job is to suggest what you think would be nice (something like Goldy did before the ass-kissing); it's our job to decide if it would be easy to implement, or possible at all. Do your job, we will continue to do ours. Thank you, keep the productive suggestions coming.

PS: I'll leave this topic for another Gm to close/move I'm in the middle of a class now with limited internet.
